Gustavo isn't interested in a move to Wolfsburg according to the Bayern guy. He wants CL footballl. He would be a perfect Wenger signing, cheap and versatile. We need to sign him up now!

Cesc has ruled out a move to Manchester United this season. So that's that rumour done for this season. We were in for him only to stop them from possibly getting him. Now that they are no longer interested...

I'm sure you will, but every one else will too. You had the best chance this summer.

    Please do explain?

Wenger had spoken to Cesc who made it clear he wanted to stay for another year. Now like a month later everyone else has accepted this is the case. Wenger clearly knows the situation better than anyone else (Fabregas/Barca not included).

If we get Suarez and another signing or two of his quality and really challenge for the league this season we will have a much better chance of getting Fabregas back into the club.

"Some clubs acted very early so the choices were reduced and there is more competition coming from France" --Wenger

**** me, other clubs being competent and acting briskly doesn't suit you, does it? Us doing the same was never an option, was it?

Early in the previous season when everyone was up in arms about Wenger I was the ****ing idiot that said with the same batch of players I'd take Wenger over ANYONE. Well that's never a fair comparison is it. Because I'd doubt other managers would let personal pride (invested in their "ideology" of football) get in the way of the club improving. They wouldn't have the same batch of players.

Everyone's gone mad with the Suarez thing. Even IF we do get Suarez, just go take a look at how thin our squad is. Plenty of other areas need improvement for which we could have done business during the last 2 months. No one expected us to grab a high-profile name in weeks. But where are the other needed additions to a squad?

As I've said before the club will come out this absolutely incompetent whoever we get during the coming weeks. If we do catch a break, it will have **** all to do with how well we did things. ****'s sake the league starts in 9 days. Forget even quality additions or first teamers just look at the numbers on this ****ing squad, what is it 19 first team players once Chamakh, etc **** off?

Another early season to forget, it seems.

lol every couple of days you seem to have a total mental meltdown about our transfer activity - it's pretty amusing tbh :p

All of the quotes from Wenger, the players and the club are that we will be bringing in several new faces not just the Suarez deal. So you can chill out and wait and see what happens. You have literally no way of deciding already 3 weeks before the transfer window ends that no matter what we do it's "absolutely incompetent" since you have no idea whats actually going on.

We will VERY CLEARLY be bringing in more than one face. If you think the club will go into the season with no more signings or that the club are only trying to bring Suarez in then i think your being a little dim tbh :p

I'm responding to the language Wenger used. He is setting up the narrative that there might not be that quality in the market anymore because other teams moved in quicker.

Our interests in other areas of the team aren't as high profile as Suarez, are they? What's the excuse then for not moving in quicker when the pool of quality to pick from is higher, paraphrasing Wenger?

Does the time needed for the squad to gel together count for nothing?

This isn't football manager and you can't decide exactly when you want your business to be done. There are all kinds of factors to take into consideration. In an ideal world we would have our signings done but the players we are in for obviously can't be sorted that quickly. That doesn't mean Wenger and the board are incompetant, you'd need far more information to draw that conclusion from slow transfer dealings when the majority of signings happen towards the end of the window.

Your taking half a line from a Wenger quote and using it to slate him. Isn't that the same interview where he says we are working hard to bring in a few different players and he thinks the fans will be happy with the players he thinks we will get?

Unless all the other players are as high profile as Suarez, no there is no excuse for all of them to be left this late. Every situation can be fragile now, with suitors coming in out of nowhere.

Spurs are a once every 10 years CL team, and they seem to be able to complete necessary signings without much fuss these days. They might be in for some more, but the ones they have made have reinforced them in areas they needed, and it was done on their terms. Leaving things late has way more risks involved.

I'm sorry but a club competent at transfers, aware of the need to improve the squad in most areas wouldn't let the situation come to this with 9 days left for the league to start...

You won't be hearing Wenger saying "I beeleeive in our squad deps" this season, unless we make a signing about every 4 days for the remainder of the window.

Players don't have to be as high profile as Suarez to not be straight forward deals. What if our targets are waiting for us to qualify for the CL? What if we couldn't move for our targetsas we where waiting to see if Fabregas would be available and needed to keep the cash for that deal? What if the players we are going for had other issues, or where on holiday still after the confed cup?

There are a million and one different reasons why a transfer or set of transfers could take longer than the desired amount of time. That doesn't automatically mean Wenger and the board are incompetant or that this season is now a write off. Thats such an over the top, simplistic view of things, it's silly really.

So your complaining that the club have doen what we have all been calling for as fans for ages? Getting rid of the deadwood? We have slated Wenger and the board for not being able to get rid of these players. They get rid of them and we slate them for getting rid and thinning out the squad. You couldn't make it up...

It's obvous that we had to clear some space in the squad and the wage budget to brign in new faces. If you genuinely think Arsenal have let tht many players leave and wont be=ring in enw faces then i think your a ****** :{P

What if all these "what ifs" go on for so long that there is practically no available talent to choose from when all of them are settled? (as the narrative Wenger is prepping indicates)

Then it will be up to Wenger and the board to ensure we have a successful season and should we fail to bring in the players we need and fail in achieving our aims because of this then they will have questions to answer.

3 weeks prior to the end of the window with all the signs pointing towards us making signings i'd say it's way, way too early to be bitching and moaning.

What's most worrying is Wenger saying other clubs moved fast, which makes it sound like other clubs have taken players Arsenal would have been interested in but they had no idea the sales were going on.

And i dont know how from one half al ine quote you can decide that is the "narrative wenger is prepping". When all of his other quotes are saying we will bring players in, we are working on several deals and he thinks the fans will be hapyp with the players he gets....

I think you just have certain negative views and are desperate for them to be validated - like your hatred for Walcott..
