Underage is underage and the law of the land states that the age of consent is 16. Girls below this age may want to have sex but it is up to the adult to establish the age and not have intercourse.
However, the thing that has always concerned me is this scenario... underage girl drinking in a club for over 18's/21. Meets a guy they have sex. It is statutory rape but she has consented and is in a place where she is legally obligated to be of a age higher than consent. Should the guy have to see proof of ID before? It is the situation that happens in Trainspotting.
It is a mine field and needs to be cleared up.
