P.S - If he thinks by having one amazing season is enough to repay the fans and the club for standing by him over the racism and biting incidents, then he's clearly got a screw loose. Ideal scenario for me - we keep him, we then win our first 6 games of the season (games which Suarez will be suspended for) proving to everyone including Suarez that we don;t need him and we are in command.
As grim as the article is, it's merely confirmed what we all knew. In addition, I may have missed this or I'm being thick but he still doesn't actually say he wants to move to Arsenal lol.
I want him gone as well but we're getting late on in this window so finding replacements is going to be difficult - a) attracting talent and b)avoiding playing inflated prices. If Costa does come, I do hope he's not the REPLACEMENT for Suarez. Crucial week for LFC. I hope Real Madrid come in now!
i think we all want him gone just not to Arsenal. hopefully the Americans will live up to their reputation of being stubborn ****as (sorry bluff lol) just hope this supposed contract doesn't' get triggered if/when Arsenal qualify, that's the only thing i can see that could feck us up.
Our owners seem very confident that the clause is in our favour. I would have thought that Suarez would have challenged this clause sooner if there was a chance. In addition, the fact that he's gone public shows his desperation.
F...F.. word...Would like him to leave as soon as possible, but not to Arsenal. We must not make it easy for him.
Just get rid of him, and get a replacement in. Because at some point down the line this will all come to a head and we'll have to sell, do it now while we can, get Arsenal to up the offer to £50m and send him on his merry way.
have we sold the f'r yet? come on guys, he's finally broken wind we're quids in at 40mil I said that at the start here, 40mil is more than he's worth cos he's truely damaged goods. if we get even close to 50mil again thats great work by ayre. Don't get emotional about the f'r getting a cheer at anfield..... just let the club shun him now and put him in training with the youths.... u-18s not u 21s... leave him there unitl the bod comes in... If arsenal have 100mil to spend they ought to spend the other 50mil quick cos the longer they don't and only have this bid in town the more they will have to up it. can't wait to see what happens next?
i would rather the **** helped the tea lady than be anywhere near our youth, even that's not really fair on the tea lady. let him cut the grass as that's the closest that twat will ever get again to playing on the hallowed turf again, **** him!
Can someone clear this up for me, if he puts in a transfer request and we name a price of lets say 50 million and Arsenal meet that price can we still say no as we don't want to sell to a team in this league?
Yep - we still have the power. His contract runs until 2016. The only thing that could potentially be against us is the clause in his contract but the club appear to be very confident on that.
yes. we could literally keep him in the reserves until 2016 if we wanted. People need to remember that the power is in our hands.
does anyone know if there is a clause that gets triggered by a club IN the CL? i know our owners are confident on this issue, but i am just wondering if this is more a case of because at the moment Arsenal are NOT in the CL, and as things stand we want the best price possible for him.
It would make sense to me for us to accept a transfer request and set a figure so that interest come in from abroad, the club would be stupid to accept any bit from a PL club.
In addition, the irony of Suarez using the British press after he criticised them earlier is quite amusing.
Just read the guardian piece. At least we now know where we all stand. Here's to hoping the club don't bend over on this matter. Saying he could have left the season before, after only signing in Jan 50 million or rot for a year I hope, FSG and the club should be even more determined to stick to their guns now he's gone and gobbed off. The Premier League and PFA can't do **** all for him, backing or not, he signed the contract he's gonna have to abide by it. Tevez and City is a good example, they didn't bend over for him, neither should we bend over for Suarez.
summarised from opta 1. Without Suarez’s goals this season we would still have finished seventh in the Premier League. 2. 39% win rate when Suarez played in the team last year, compared with 62% when not - suggests that we are the opposite of “reliant” on him. To put it into context, 39% is roughly Everton’s level, 62% is Manchester City’s. 3. He is1st in the league for being dispossessed. 2nd for turning the ball over. 3rd in Offsides per game. 4. Only a 76.6% completed pass rate. (For comparison, Mata and Hazard were both over 85%, RVP was 80.2%.) 4. Poor shot conversion - 12.2% conversion rate on total shots. (Costa is 22%). and 5. He's a **** and is suspended more often than he plays and has dragged our reputation into the mud
No, the clause in question legally only entitles him to speak to a club that offers over the £40m, there's apparently nothing in the clause that forces Liverpool to accept the bid. However, I think that it could legally argued that the VERBAL agreement that was supposedly made prior to the drawing up of this written contract, was that he would be allowed to leave if an offer in excess of £40m was received & that the wording in the written document was deliberately obtuse & not as per the verbal understanding. Which could all get very messy if it went legal & would suit no-one tbh, as it'd drag the whole process on beyond the close of the window & I think post todays interview, there's no way he can surely wear your shirt again, can he??? p.s. I see the nasty press who are the route of all evil, have their uses at times then?......just as I was saying yesterday - a symbiotic relationship...
