great example of a player starting to believe in his own press. Had a few good games at the start then started to think he was a world beater. Unfortunately the lad is so limited, the premier league is beyond him

Too easily restricted by quality opposition, if he's unable to learn new tricks then your right for me

Why are everbody writing him off. Why not give him a chance and see if Paolo can improve his game? I think we might regret it if we sell him.

I agree that footballing wise he may still have a lot to offer if he can regain his early form. However, the fact that he appears to be as thick as two short planks doesn't help his cause in endearing himself with our fans..

Some of his decision making has been terrible. We were winning by a single goal going into the last 2 minutes of injury time against Wigan. He receives the ball on the left wing, runs to the edge of the box (about 3 yards from the touchline) and shoots.

Anyone with half a brain knows we need the points so get to the corner flag (path was open to the flag and he could've wasted a bit of time easily - which we needed)

Other times I've seen him get the ball and attempt stupid shots from horrendous angles where players have been stood in acres in the middle of the box with an open goal and he has 3 players to get the ball past.

Limited player at best and outstayed his welcome for me - If Paolo CAN improve the lad then great - but I have seen nothing in him that endears him to my club - if he bucks his ideas up and proves me wrong then great - but personally I would rather take the profit and run

He did one early cross that took everyone by surprise in 1st game against blackburn and thats it! He's got no real talent imo. He scored a couple admittedly early on. I think ppl had him down as a world beater initially and got carried away. The war he played last season is the real mcclean.

Don't think we're in a position to to improve a squad player, seems pointless. We need to be looking at next level signings. Let him go on loan and make us some profit. He'll be the first in a long line to do this.

I'm not too sure that his IRA sympathies and refusal to wear a poppy would go down too well amongst the Wigan fans. Not too far from Warrington where feelings still run high about the bombings in the 90s.

I might be going against the grain here but by the sounds of things nothing is imminent on the transfer front and letting McClean with no replacement is bad business as the club is still seriously short squad number wise.

I dont believe that we are waiting to get rid of players before we buy for one second because our squad is still desperately short as it stands. To sell McClean to Wigan and just replace him with another panic buy would be pointless unless we do have someone lined up (Marvias) to take his place who we have actually scouted.
