Royal Award 33/1 running here Stick

Handicapper dropped her another 5 pounds and there isnt a lot of early speed in the race, could have a place chance if she gets a good start.

That was much better, she didnt get a great start and they went faster than I thought but she made a big move from a long way back. Probably wants faster ground but there is defo a race in her on that evidence, maybe she doesnt need to go from the front.

Very bizarre evening over at Carlisle this evening, on three occasions a jockey went off like a scolded cat opening 10-15 length leads, of course only for the horse to be completely finished by the furlong pole. It's entirely predictable and suicidal riding and yet 3 times in the same evening same tactics tried with exactly the same result each time. What's a shame is that its a female jockey evening and it just provides such ammo for those that would suggest they cannot compete. As an owner, unless of course they were given such instructions, you would just have to ask "what was that?".

Two things to counter such performances however were a superb hold up ride by Lucy Alexander on Hot Rod Mama which was judged to perfection, whilst in the same race before the start Kirsty Milzerick showed what a superb horse woman she is when Lady Chaperel was playing up terribly before the start, most would have just wanted to get off as the horse was looking very dangerous indeed, Kirsty however was composed and handled the situation superbly. Anyone who watched that and has ever sat on a horse playing up like that will tell you it is terrifying. There must be something in the air today as I recall a horse playing rodeo at Wolverhampton earlier as well.

Going changed to soft after first race. His début was on GF so could well be the reason. Drastic changes in going are a nightmare where form is concerned. Those that have performed/trained on a sound surface and suddenly confronted with soft either have to be pulled or risk not running to their potential. Those that like soft might not have had as much pre race gallops as the trainer would have liked due to the firm ground. Best to keep money in the pocket unless reliable inside info to hand.

Especially on a galloping and testing track like Carlisle

Kirsty always was a cool and gutsy rider

Sorry stick; the comment says "plugged on" this time. The going was soft so maybe not the ideal circumstances to try upping in trip.

Picking up on this, it is absolutely ridiculous that when the going is changed, the race/s before are not in the result. So when you read the form, the first race at Windsor tonight will say that it was Good to Soft, when clearly it was soft.

Gets us all the time the conditions weather maps are just as unreliable (just like tipsters hours of studying on the wrong surface conditions:grin:) I know its not funny really costs time and money !
I don't know what the conditions were like at ripon in the last not seen the race but, badea maybeme and bavarian have raced before very close race aswell , badea was on top today on paper was it the conditions that took his chances?
Sorry another moan I thought bajan bear had placed earlier only looked at full result on phone 3rd place now I have just looked properly 3 horses were pulled taking it down to two places I will leave it at that before I start shouting . Slightly up on the day so cant moan to much
