Hahaha, effing forgot about the ban amidst all this nonsense. Sorry guys I've let you all down #blamesuarez
Some very encouraging words from Rodgers today. This was a much needed boost, it really does look like Rodgers has zero intention of selling him at this late stage in the window. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...s-criticises-Arsenal-for-Luis-Suarez-bid.html
"The question of how Arsenal came to be so certain their offer would succeed, given it is contrary to Premier League regulations to know the confidential details of a rival player’s contract, has yet be addressed by the north London club." Nail. Head.
Sweet. If Suarez goes to court or the FA then Arsenal must explain how they came to know - or misunderstand, as the case may be - of a confidential clause in Luis's contract. And Wenger witters on about standards.... Anyhow, a pyrrhic victory to some degree anyway. Unless we sell Suarez, abroad preferably, this summer we'll take a massive hit next year, unless we qualify for the CL, Luis has a change of heart and signs a new contract, there is an end to hunger and Our Lord returns walk upon the earth. Can't understand how FSG have suddenly become all resolute over this, but **** themselves over taking on the FA and the press over the Evra stitch-up. welcome, but I'm sure Luis would have appreciated gonad-adorned FSG 20 months ago.
They just need to say they read the papers for about two weeks previous to the offer like everyone else and took a punt.
If Suarez does take us to court, the chance of anything being resolved in 1 month is unlikely (but cases seem to be expedited when it comes to sport!). This week is crucial ...
It depends upon what court and where. IF Suarez tried to take legal action then he would be likely to refer to the Premiership. However, the Premiership are not the FA and therefore Liverpool would be likely to reject any effort by the Premiership to arbitrate upon what they would consider a commercial matter. Hence Liverpool may well wish to refer to the either the courts or any other court of arbitration scheduled in the contract itself.
Let's hope that IF remains an IF. Should he throw his toys from the pram and try to push it, this could get messy.
I would not be surprised if Guardiola and/or Suarez have not been told by either John Henry, or Ian Ayre that if they do go to court, LFC would seek punitive damages
Apparently, Suarez was the only member of Liverpool's first team squad that didn't attend Gerrard's testimonial dinner. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/aug/04/luis-suarez-arsenal-liverpool-rodgers
As Dave has said the club hold the cards, Heinze tried the same route to try sign for us, but United weren't having it, this is pretty much the same, we can refuse all the arsenal bids we want. I am behind the club keeping him here, if anything to make a statement about contracts that were agreed and that no player can hold the club to ransom. IF all the media stuff is even true that is, some of it probably is not far from the mark, but given he signed an extension last year and the backing he has gotten since arriving, the club and FSG should be firm on the fact that he is not going to a rival, end of story. If Suarez does indeed want to go to Arsenal, he will just have to suck it up and see that the club are not gonna harm their own chances to suit his needs of Champions League football and that Liverpool are bigger than Luis Suarez, a player who has dragged the club's name through the mud last season. He will honour his contract until a time we are happy to accept a bid.
He's just a troll saint, he's been trolling every board that's talking about Suarez. Logic doesn't mean much to Diego he just hates Suarez and Liverpool FC
