He is a top quality player and i'd take him at Arsenal but i can't see us paying his wages tbh and if they are anything like 250-300k a week then that is far too much. Plus he likes to be at teams where it is fairly certain he will win the league, not sure he would fit with a team who are underdogs.

Aye but say we gave him a 5 -10 million pound signing on fee, then 180 - 200 k a week, wouldn't be losing him that much. He might have to take a pay cut unless he wants to go to russia, no one else will pay him that, plus England is the only big league in europe he has not played in, it s now or never for him.

Or seen as the PSG owners love wenger maybe he could persuade then to subsidise his wages haha

I think Russia is a real possibility for him - he could get mega wages still and add another league title

A move to the EPL would be far less likely to result in guaranteed silverware and less likely to earn the same wages. I agree its probably now or never though if he wants a shot at english football as he is unlikely to still be good enough for the top english teams if he moves to another club/league first.

It's the middle of the night and i'm bored so i'm going to make an Arsenal team after the ideal summer:

    --------------Szsc----------------
    Sagna----Mert----Kosc----Monreal
    --------Bender*---Wilshere------- * = one of Gustavo/Bender/Fellaini
    Walcott-------Fabregas-------Cazorla
    ------------------Suarez---------

Subs: Flappy, Verm, Jenk/gibbs, Arteta, Ramsey, Podolski, Giroud

    Yes please :)

I watched the Swansea game last night to scout him, and he was awesome. He reads things very quickly, he's pacy, good on the ball, basically the opposite of Mert in all physical apects.

Against the mighty Malmo. He might have an advantage over Mert on the physical aspects of the game, but Mert can read the game as good as anyone, and his combo with Kos is superb. I would only sign a Thiago Silva or Matts Hummels to break up that partnership.

We should sign Williams anyway. He could rotate with Mert. Against pacier forwards we go Williams and Kos, against Stoke and their ilk, we go for Per and Kos.

Seeing as Vermaelen is out for six weeks, I do think we need to sign another CB.

I apologise in advance for showing no sympathy, but we should sell Verm and bring in 2 CB's. What's the point in keeping someone who's always injured, especially when teams like Barca are always sniffing around him? we could get decent money for a crock, and that's good business in my book.

Keep the stuff about Suarez in that 'Suarez transfer news' thread, please. Do not want all that stuff spilling into other threads, hence why we made a separate thread for that topic.

Also, SJW made a great point, if we're supposed to stick to you stupid "Liverpool take the piss out of arsenal for some reason" thread, you stick to the "we mercilessly mock you, even if we don't sign suarez" thread.

On this day in 1999, Arsene completed the signing of a French forward going by the name Thierry Henry.

Just a reminder of who our manager is and what he is capable of :)
