can some one please tell me what happened there?
I started reading your posts, 2-0 up, then when my ****ty lap top finally got a stream its 2-1 & we are playing terrible !!
Did the team change that much at half time?

It is a little premature to start speculating that Hooper and RVW cannot work together as a duo. At Celtic Hooper and Stokes would alternate between the 9 and 10 positions to great effect. I've also heard that in RVWs days in Holland he used to drop into the number 10 slot as well. There is no reason to believe this kind of partnership cannot develop again here.

Hooper looked a bit tired in the second half which is to be expected really getting his fitness levels up etc, I see some slight similarities between him and Rooney, if him and RVW work on it in training they could become an effective team, I do think RVW needs players nearby him to work, not pointing any fingers but the midfield didn't help him out one bit in that half.

Positives, Hooper looked good in the first half and scored 2 goals, as a team we were playing well. But the second half wasn't so good, but I'm not going to be too bothered about a pre-season game.

Braga just got better more than anything.

Butterfield was very quiet, not sure if he is what we are looking for or what we need.

Hughton has given him a chance and I dont think he has shown enough. Redmond looked good though and Fer.

There's no reason why RVW and Hooper won't work. Hopper makes committed runs regardless of where the ball is, Wolfswinkle seems to waits until the ball is ready to be played before committing forward. Otherwise he will drift all over slowly. They are very different players.

All it needs is for them to think about each other and the midfield to understand them.

Carrabuhs season target of choice is Ricky Van Wolfswinkel. Calling it now.

Pre-Season still means very little.

For me the individual performances of Fer and Hooper were very good.

The bad things revolved around passing yet again and the types of pass being chosen. What was of most concern was the ease in which the game turned, Braga gave us a leisurely stroll in that first half and we still weren't great with the passing given the room, as soon as they tightened up we sadly reverted to type.

This is in with the rest of them, you have to ignore personal performance from pre season games. You cannot say there are question marks over RvW after a 45 min cameo in a pretty dire team performance all round when the quality over all was rather lowered compared to the 1st half. He barely got a touch of the ball, most of that is cos of the lack of quality in service too him. He is a striker, a finisher. That is what we paid money for. Now correct me if im wrong but how many chances did he get to score tonight... A big fat ZERO! How many chances did Hooper get, 3 or 4 and took 2 of them. The performance in that 2nd half was bad, but cos RvW didn't score or have a chance to score he's a waste of money <doh>

No, I like players who do that, its a show of faith in their own ability that they feel they don't have to waste energy to impress the crowds.

Besides, everyone knows your my target of choice, it's so very hard to miss.

Your right of course, we need at least 90 mins before we can decide if RVW is a waste of money ;)

I'm not so sure

I think RVW is going to get a very hard time indeed by certain sections of the Norwich crowd, the ones that seem to set up guys for failure. He's a massive signing and I think people will expect him to float the ball into the net using his mind.

I also can't wait to find out who the new Cody McDonald is goin to be, David fox or ... Andrew surman.

Your just projecting your own philosophy onto others there Beef, I think you won't appreciate someone playing that way and are saying that to cover your own misgivings.

And that's not a wind up, thats my genuine opinion.

I think theres a general comfortably viewpoint with some fans that Norwich are crap and play crap and we all have a moan and a laugh about it in the pub afterwards when we lose 6-0 to Fulham. I also believe that time is far in the past.

This pre-season is proving to me the players that are up to it and the ones that aren't.

So is it going to be a weekly roundup of every time Andrew Surman touches the ball for Bournemouth or a sky news "ticker tape"

How's it proven anything?

I don't agree with this view because I don't think we are quite at the position to fully judge. Following your view how does a victory against a non league team? two defeats and a draw with one good half prove anything.

It doesn't, not that we are poor, average or good. As far as I'm concerned the only players to have stood out are Redmond, Fer and Hooper, the rest have done next to nothing because they are not sharp yet.

Whatever you say, Suppose David Fox would sort everything out eh? YAWN!
