Well a lot of the have been second-hand from family, I've only actually bought (or had bought for me) about 3 or 4, and it used to be the case in the bedroom I grew up in that there was not enough room to have both a bed and a PC with a desk, and after much consideration a bed was just about more important! Other than that its mostly not been my decision, and despite my attempts to convey the long list of benefits of a PC it's been decided for me that I should have a laptop instead and I was not one to throw a strop about it given I was lucky to be getting anything at all. Can now use my own money and decision-making but unfortunately it's probably still a pipe-dream as I'll have to use the money for other things. Some day...

New Doctor Who to be announced at 7 pm on Sunday. May be a woman this time...I remember one doctor (may have been Matt Smith) checking and then saying, 'No, still a man.' to reflect rumours at the time that the doctor would be female.

Uruguay is about to become the first country to fully legalise marijuana. The government will buy it from licensed growers and distribute it to pharmacies, and people will be allowed to grow the plant in private for their own personal use.

I think we should be watching this closely to determine how successful it is, and if crime goes down and drug-related medical emergencies don't go up, I see no reason why we shouldn't do the same.

Instantly that Family Guy episode where Brian and Stewie get it legalised comes into my head.

How predictable was that..? No doubt a third of the population will diminish over the next year as they all meet with unfortunate accidents.

Yeah, I hadn't thought of that one.

I understand that officials, and people who had to oversee the election, had to vote recently, and it was found that a sizable bundle of opposition votes had been dumped. Democratically dumped, of course. Good eh..?

Wouldn't surprise me, has Mugabe got a son? If so he has his career sorted.

Decriminalization is already proven to work in many places; Portugal, Netherlands, Prague and the States in America all show reduced crime rates related to Cannabis use. It's only a matter of time before its legal, the tax revenue it would generate will far outweigh 'costs'.

Difficult to see a conservative government allowing it though.

Or any other party. Little support for this across the board.

The lib dems might, but they'll never form a majority government.

I think a good portion of the Labour party would support it, especially if our little guinea pig Uruguay shows positive results and other countries follow suit.

Cannabis is no less harmful than smoking cigarettes; the fact that cannabis is a Class B drug makes you wonder how soft Class C drugs are. I've never smoked or done drugs, but it's logical that drugs like cannabis should be legal, but not drugs like ecstasy, cocaine and heroin.
