I love Prof Cox, but "things can only get better" by "D:ream" is my most hated song of all time.
Just thought I'd share that.
You've obviously never head House of Jealous Lovers by The Rapture.
Take my advice, don't look it up.

well you know i'm going to now!![]()
How does this rep thing work - I've never noticed it before I went all red blobs. I checked in Control Panel and it seems I annoyed King Ossie and Piskie!

Everyone annoys King Ossie
Basically you can give good rep or bad rep to someone after a post you thought was good/bad. The more good rep you get, the more your rep goes up(green bars) and the more bad rep you get it goes down. Trouble is the extent that your rep goes up or down depends on the amount of rep the user dishing it out has.
Basically it's not worth giving two ****s about, there are threads on other board where they exchange good reps to boost themselves higher so they get into the millions and destroy other people's rep. As I said, it's pointless, but some people like it and those that don't just tend to ignore it.
Thanks - sounds like a good idea but ruined by idiots

Lads, as I have said... I'm on holiday from work for 6 weeks. I'm considering getting a football manager game to kill some of the time. Which is the best one to get these days?
The last one i had was this:
You must log in or register to see images
(Gus Poyet??!!)
I liked that game, but thought I'd get recommendations from you lot as some of you seem to be pretty into these sorts of games.
thanks in advance![]()

The only one worth buying these days is from the Football Manager franchise (formerly Championship Manager). I haven't played FM13 in any real depth though, because I've been stuck managing Boston United in FM12 for the last two yearsBut it felt much better to play than 12, so thats what I would recommend.
Take up golf. Those games will ruin your life.

cheers GP. how difficult is it? I remember championship manager becoming insanely hard about 10 years ago when I was finishing school. Loads of my mates and I ha the game but just kept getting sacked. Is it still the case? - It wasn't playable as it was so bloody difficult.
Also, my laptop only has a 1.86ghz dualcore processor (I know, I need to get a new one), but the requirement is a 2.2ghz. I don't buy PC games and I've read that having a processor that's too slow can cause games not to work. is this based more on online games with insane graphics? Will something like football manager be ok, even if it runs slow? surely a load of screens with just text and a few images can't require the latest technology?!
sorry if that's a bit geeky, but thought you guys might know as you buy these games yourself and have to consider this![]()
Lol, did you mean that to be a joke? very subtle spurmey![]()
"If you look at Arsenal - not won anything in eight years, just challenging for fourth place, not really any players there who will make him say 'I'm going to play with him and him' - Gerrard has got a point."
Well, i used to be a MASSIVE championship manager (before eidos bought it) player. So addictive. It ruined my GCSEs. Then a new version came out and it ruined my A-levels. Then another new version, some new friends who also played it and BANG, my degree is in the toilet too.
****ing games.
So now i'm cold turkey on them, and bored. I tried playing golf, i got to the standard where the ball would go in the air and not on the ground, i never progressed beyond that.
Giving up was made easier by the version you mention that got INSANELY hard and complicated. Just too many options.
Oh, and football manager tends to be very CPU intensive. If it has 3d game engine for viewing the games (last one i saw had 2d dots running around) then it will be a stress on the graphics card too.
Take up life, it's much more fun.

You can turn it off (I had to, the combination of the 3D plus the ever-expanding player database was murdering my PC)
Meanwhile, I merely have the stress of managing Spurs and coaching England at the same time...
