Back when adverts were entertaining <ok>
Nike had some of the best ads back in the day. What went wrong?

Football changed man, now what happens off the field is more important than what happens on it. Gone are the days when the players played the game for the passion and desire. Now it's about money and status. Nothing more. I think people have forgotten just how good the likes of Ronaldo and co. were back in the day. Easily on a par with today's superstars and maybe even better. Only Lionel Messi stands out for me, as a true great. That's just for me though.

i remember my lads laughing when they saw " fat " ronaldo on the telly . i said , laugh all you want boys , in his day that guy was the dogs bollox.
Theres no respect , what about them russians throwing bananas at Roberto Carlos .

Hes Roberto Carlos ffs .

IKR, frankly watching those old clips makes me realize the passion that is missing from today's game. I mean its there but back then you could feel it radiating from fans, players, managers, etc...
Football's soul is slowly ebbing away <wah>

• Tottenham want 'Spain's future No9' as makeweight
• Morata would make deal worth more than £100m

Roberto Soldado's protracted £25.8m club-record transfer to Tottenham is imminent after the 28-year-old striker was left out of Valencia's tour of the United States.

Seems like a lot of stuff is happening with Spurs at the moment. The Bale transfer is getting closer. To make the deal even better for themselves, they've asked for the highly promising Morata plus a large mountain of cash for Bale. Damn Levi is a great negotiator. Also the Soldado deal is looking very close.

According to the spuds, it's all just paper talk <whistle>

Clearly not paper talk anymore. Should he leave, it will be interesting to see how they cope without him. They've clearly signed some decent players and with Soldado coming in, would it make them a more balanced team?
