Better is Bale with a happy heart than wealth with vexation.

He cannot have a happy heart at THFC with the constant stress of his team bottling it.

It's Spurs who'd have the happy heart.

Why is it when an Oil backed team spends obscene amounts of money they're accused of ruining football...buying titles and trophies etc but when Real go on these sickening levels of spending you rarely hear a squeek of negativity in media /other fans.....

Far from belittling their achievements.... these expensively assembled teams become celebrated with romantic terms such as the Galacticos etc

  5. They'd have a happy mind, not sure their heart would be overjoyed at losing their one man team <whistle>

  6. Because Real Madrid has always done it and there aren't many clubs bigger than them historically either.

They do get comments regarding the King's or Government's money though <laugh>

Yes they have the history etc.....but as far as using money goes and how the use it....they're no different from City or Chelsea and deserve to be treated no differently

  9. Didn't say they were different, just saying why they don't get the same abuse <ok>

Having said that, before Man City and Chelsea got sugar daddies, Man Utd got accused of buying the league

I reckon if we had all the factual accounting of the club over the years then there would be plenty of disgust. The Spanish tax payer has put millions into that club without even knowing it.

It's a comparable situation, but not representative of the gulf in class between the 3 clubs. And a big difference is that Arsenal knew they couldn't compete and had accepted it, Liverpool haven't.

We can compete - but in a different way. Plus we do have the resolve to tell clubs like Arsenal - our way or the highway. We just don't need you.

That's what I mean by a gulf in class between the clubs. Of course Liverpool can compete, they compete at their level, which at the moment is for a place in the Europa League. Arsenal, at the time of van Persie were competing at their level too, which was for a place in the Champions League. Now, should they sign Suarez and another top player, they will be promoted to another level, which will be competing for the league title, which will then likely make the competition for Champions League spots obsolete.
