in fairness to you both those comments were made by him before the main confed cup got going so are old at thin point so something new would be welcome from my point of view..
After the Reina debacle, I have no confidence in our management to get the best possible outcome whether Suarez leaves or not. Hello mid table mediocrity for a few more years.
I tend to agree, he is looking for a Madrid move and everything he's said has been to let them know he wants to go there or somewhere similar. It must be chafing his pants that none of those teams have made an offer, if he is willing to move sideways just to play CL without a real chance of winning it that's his call. But.. if we decide to not let him go to Arsenal, IF he actually wants to go, not a shred of proof on that point, he will play his football this season, he's way too competitive to not, and he will want to further his Madrid ambitions by playing out of his socks, essentially playing for himself and not exactly the team, not unusual in today's modern game with massive egos and he will still command a decent fee in Jan or next summer, so I think for me what matters now is what the club do as Suarez has made his intentions clear enough. It does not serve us to strengthen the teams directly above us I will say that. If Madrid or no other team abroad comes in for him I say make him sit it out if his contract doesn't force our hand. As for 3 being interested, I agree with the sig bozz has Rule of three, an exact science
I didn't mean to come across as a pessimist lol. There is still time and I still expect a couple of big names to come in.
He doesn't need to say anything else - he's said all that need to be said on the subject & unless he comes out & says his position has now changed, there's no reason to assume that it has..............
If he's totally intent on leaving a transfer request is pending. Otherwise he's trying to lift his skirt to show Madrid his fanny. "come and get it boys"
I wasn't going to get back involved in this thread but then the stupidity of Sisu just drags me back in It isn't a sideways move if he gets to finish higher in the league and play in the CL rather than no european football at all. It's a clear step up and would put him much more firmly in the shop window for the other top clubs like his ideal destination Madrid. If you still can't see this your just a tool or deluded. How big of a step up is debatable, but stop trying to peddle the idea that your on the same level as Arsenal currently, it just makes you look stupid.
On the other hand, Arsenal has the same chance of winning the league or CL as Liverpool next season, and a smaller chance of winning the FA/league cup. So it's a bit of a backwards step really. If you give him a big increase in wages I can't really blame him though
Won't disagree that Arsenal would be a step up, but it's a small step up. I believe Suarez should be on a much higher level - a level which sees him competing on many fronts and winnings trophies. Sadly, I don't see him doing that at Arsenal.
Sorry troll, troll the arsenal line, I've posted a few posts and one line with arsenal in it has you trolling. Let me clear it up for you, he wont win the league with Liverpool or Arsenal, and not the CL either, 2 places further up the league means **** all to Suarez and if madrid came aknocking he wouldn't **** on Arsenal, and no one but the media has said he is even interested in Arsenal in the first place. There were 12 points between the two clubs, or 4 games worth of points, yeah that's sideways The CL being the major difference I am doubting he is going to sign for Arsenal but doubt doesn't mean it won't happen but I doubt it nonetheless because Arsenal are not the club that match Suarez ambitions. And no, as soon as Arsenal were mentioned in any way at all your trolly self was always gonna get involved again
@Jimmy Squarefoot I think thats what the real issue is - Liverpool fans feel if he is taking a step up it should be to the top. I understand this completely - when one of your own playersgets linked with a move away - if they are a superstar it makes you feel better if you casn justify it being a solid career move, which is hard when you feel the other club isn't a huge step up. But Arsenal are a step up and if his aim is to get to Madrid i can see why he would see Arsenal as a good stepping stone.
Mate I know and everyone knows that if Real Madrid want him he would rather be with them than us, who ****ing wouldn't? What's been made up: - Suarez tells Liverpool he wants to leave - Suarez wants to talk to Arsenal
But would you be happy knowing that you've signed a player who merely sees you as a stepping stone with the view of leaving after 1 year? ...
Can I suggest you don't get back involved in this thread, Mr WUM. How many times have L'Arse won the European Cup/Champions League, by the way?
@Sisu - 12 points between us? There was 5 between Arsenal and City. Your logic there is flawed so i wouldn't go down that road The rest of your post is basically your opinion that Arsenal are never going to win anything again - i disagree - no real way to debate that one we shall have to agree to disagree on the "who will win trophies" front. @astro - Liverpool quite clearly don't have the same chance as Arsenal of winning the CL... i'll leave it to you to work that one out pal A step backwards? Now i know your just a wum
