  1. I must have said this more times in the last hour...

BR basically said Suarez will be going this summer if someone bids what we deem to be his valuation <ok>

Ayre is just playing the game <ok>

You'd be amazed at how many still think we will hold onto him. Even on here.

Don't ban anyone. on my phone as had a power cut. I like talking to other fans and winding them up. just saying this wengers guy can be a nob. For instance him coming here and strutting his **** with verbal diahorreaand calling us plebs. don't ban him just let him know he can be. id be quite embarresed to be banned off another board. sorry guys, looks like im spitting dummy out but not. posted that then literally got power cut and it took apes for me to realise that i could use my phone which has nearly run out of battery .

To be honest he can go providing we get 50 and we invest wisely.

This has a lot of similarities to the Torres incident.

There we spent very badly and its cost us probably 3 seasons now. We have to make sure we do things right this time.

Trouble is we are stalling over money which might actually cost us more in replacing him as the window gets nearer to closing and all of a sudden we have a massive lump to spend.

Hopefully, if we're pro-active, we should have someone very near in the pipeline.

But planning (see summer transfers) is not something we've done well in recently.

I read an article in 'Well Red' which raised the point that we have to trust/hope our owners are up to the task. It's true. There is not much we can do.

  7. I'm still undecided. Not because I think its all bullshit or that Suarez will have a sudden change of heart but because I'm not convinced Arsenal will cough up what they need to or Suarez will submit a transfer request. I can't see Real paying what we want either although I can see us taking less for him to go abroad too.

    I asked this question before.

Are we prepared to cave down towards 40 so we can be sure to spend this summer?

Or ....on both principle and let's be honest we are a club that can just throw away 10 million we hold out for the 50M and hold our nerve even if it means not spending it this summer?

The Torres mistake was rushing out & spending to show we could & to appease the mouthiest doom mongers amongst us. Well; it didn't shut them up did it? Oh and didn't work lol

  11. The Torres / Babel / Carroll / Suarez deals were also in FSG's first window just after they arrived.

Not slagging again (actually didn't at the time), it's past and done.

I just mean I personally would rather we wait with 50 in the bank if our target to replace him isn't available.

As you say G, I'm not convinced Suarez is plan A for Real. If they get Bale where does Suarez fit?

Which leaves Arse. At 40 they may
Risk his behaviour but 50? Mmm.

Is there any other club you could see swoop in and blindside? That happens occasionally

So we bought Suarez and Carroll for £57-58m in the same window and we could potentially sell them for £65m in this window.

If Ayre has any balls, Suarez will be here this season. Arsenal won't bid 50mill straight up and Real will bid something absurd like 30mill + a crap reserve player in the last week.

That's the way I see it panning out at least. 30mill from Real or still a Liverpool player.

  18. But as as been highlighted already, if we don't get £50m then Suarez stays put. He the kind of player to sit and sulk, he loves playing football, you can tell this just by watching him! Nor is he going to sit and sulk during a world cup year. Plus, if he did sit and sulk, he is much less likely to get the move he wants later on.

Personally, I think we are in a very good position here. Especially with him having three years left on his contract.

In short, I say we hold out no matter what <ok>
