As the article quite correctly states, if the news was positive, why not announce Suarez is staying? By their reticence they are beginning to give us a clearer picture of what's happening underneath the surface.

All you can gather from that really is Suarez has reiterated his desire to leave and join Arsenal/Madrid. If there is any possibility they are incorrect on the terms of the clause then I doubt they would take such a strong stance against us. I hope now that Arsenal don't back out of this, I say give them what they want (£50M) and move on. It will benefit all parties if this is done ASAP. It could also hinder Spurs (Madrid will 100% focus on Bale, Pool might nick Soldado off them). We can kill 2 birds with one stone here if we get the deal done now.

Rodgers as basically said that Suarez will be leaving but they need to receive an offer that they feel is acceptable first.

yet racial abuse is unacceptable but saying I will kill you should be brushed off. It's right to get the POlice involved as it would be with racial abuse.

Chelsea fans have contsntly threatened to kill two referees now and still continue to threaten one 4 years after the game<doh> What moronic idiots.

Neither are acceptable

What the **** are you going on about?

@Sisu -

In the last decade Arsenal are a bigger club than Liverpool - 1 EPL title (Invincibles), 2 FA Cups, 1 Community Shield, 2 League Cup Finals, CL every year including reaching the Final, Top 4 finish every year (over half the time in the top 3), constant presence of World Class Players, World Class manager in place the entire decade - all of this on top of moving to the best stadium in the country (one of the best in the world), increasing our fan base and securing a fantastic position of financial security becomming one of the world most valuable clubs.

If we go back and look at the years proceeding this period we can add in a couple more league titles, a few FA Cups (including a couple of doubles), a few community shields a couple of other finals, another 6 years worth of CL football, still the same World Class Manager and top players.

Vs,

A CL, a League Cup and an FA Cup? Inconsistent jumpy league form, years out of the top competition, several sub standard managers, farcical owners, embaressing transfer dealings, an out-dated stadium and in a position where you cannot attract the top talent.

Arsenal are the bigger club by quite a large margin at the moment and over the last decade in general - you've had a couple of decent teams and thats it - you have to go back a long way to a time when Liverpool were a bigger club than Arsenal.

If you are going to include your appearances in finals you could at least do the same for Liverpool <ok>

I was writing it off the top of my head, so i can recall Arsenal final appearances but couldn't neccessarily say the same for Liverpool without looking it up ;)

As far as i can recall it only adds an extra FA Cup final to Liverpools record - overall we have been the better team over the last 10-20 years - It's al ong time since the 70's and 80's ;)

An extra £10m to screw the spuds .... definitely worth it <laugh>

Rory Smith of Times thinks Lilpool are closing the gap on Arsenal and could overtake us in the race for 4th. That's if we're in it. I'd hope we set our sights higher.

See you Arsenal fans are at it again! You don't listen to what is actually being said. Liverpool have never said that they would sell for £50 million. They have talked about the players value being in excess of £50+ million so they will not settle at £50. Neither is it likely that LFC would even consider staged payments and may seek a payment as compensation for not taking action against Arsenal for tapping-up.

If what is now being reported as Ian Ayre's latest statement are true then it is safe to assume that FSG/LFC's legal teams are more confident about their stance regarding the supposed clause.

Now we know your club get's a nose-bleed at anything over £15 million but it is finally time that they grow a pair and

Is it time to start bookmarking these comments to laugh at when Suarez signs for us?

Its weird how you have suddenly decided to spend a bit.

Why not before? Why not get Higuane (spelling) and countless other players?

I am reasonably confident you would have won at least one League in the past 5-8 years if the money was actually spent - wisely obviously.

It just comes across that business men are making money detriment to the teams actual success.
