Giroud has been talking up Suarez. Not often our players speak out about transfer targets, the club must be very confident of signing him.

Found an owner making a joke for his club's fans both refreshing and entertaining I did.

And football is after all... Entertainment.

Liverpool's Luis Suarez will be making a mistake if he joins Arsenal, says Brendan Rodgers
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...if-he-joins-Arsenal-says-Brendan-Rodgers.html

“Would it be a mistake for Luis to leave Liverpool? Yes, 100 per cent,” Rodgers said. “I know what we are trying to build and grow here, so why would you swap Liverpool to go to Arsenal? I am not sure that it adds up to be honest.

“Don’t get me wrong, Arsenal has a wonderful history in its own right, but Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I am sure Luis will have seen the sheer size and status of the club here [in Melbourne], so we’ll just see how it goes.”

The manager is sounding as deluded as some of it's supporters. Liverpool haven't been a force for ages. It will take them a number of years to reach the Champions league, and that will take much more investment into the squad. They will do well to beat Spurs!

This guy is a such a clown.

I have always liked Liverpool football Club but they way they have reacted to this bid is just pathetic.

The reality is that Wenger has built title winning teams in the past while Brenden Rodgers has never won ANYTHING in his managerial career.

To be expected though I suppose, they look likely to lose their best player and arguably, like Bale for the spuds, the only player who saved their arses from midtable mediocrity. Without Suarez they will struggle, so they have to try and say everything they can to stop him from leaving.

The trouble is though that Rodgers hasn't really got any ammo to back it up with, he's won nothing, built no winning squads and achieved basically **** all in his career. Why the hell Liverpool appointed him I'll never know, why didn't they go for somebody like Ancelotti or Hiddink who could have actually built them back up and attracted players to the club ?

Also the comments from ex players like Souness and Aldridge, slagging Suarez off for his lack of loyalty are not helping Liverpool's cause, they are instead just pouring fuel on the flames and hastening his exit.

I predict Madrid will come in at the last minute and smash and grab - They have good strikers, but no one in Suarez's league. That's if they aim to keep Ronaldo on the wing, which makes sense as that's his best position by a mile.

This whole saga just proves 100% that football fans are so fickle - If I had time (which I don't as I'm not a sad ****er) to go through previous posts, I would find 100's of quotes by Arsenal fans saying things like 'I would never want that racist scum bag cannibal **** at our club' etc etc etc...

Now the majority are relishing the thought of Suarez playing in an Arsenal shirt - now that is fickle at it's finest!

Believe it or not most Liverpool fans respect Arsenal (as I do) and the work Wenger has done over the years, but the signs from our owners and Ian Ayres and the management team suggest a move to a rival (yes we are a rival, we play in the same league) is well out the question.

Whatever happens it will be interesting - but I stand by my predication that Madrid will suddenly come in and snap him up. He's there missing piece from potentially making them the powerhouse of Europe. Them selling Higuan recently means they are a little short upfront, they got good money for him so add 20mil to that and Suarez is on the plane to Spain - exactly where he wants to go.

Everyones happy (except Arsenal), Suarez plays in a country of his native tongue at a club that wins trophies regularly, we get rid of a nuisance, and have a pot of money to improve our squad.

    But time will tell....

If he does join you be prepared for a roller-coaster of a ride. He is a genius as we all know - but with that comes his insanity.

How do you want Rodgers to react?

He has to play tough... And if taking our best player you are,, we have every right to be single minded.

You don't see clubs like Spurs or say Porto getting anything less than a great price. Why should we not drive for that if we can?

If you do ever go back to search for quotes about Suarez, you'll find that I was calling for us to sign him almost a year ago. So you can't really make that sweeping generalisation about us being fickle. <ok>

This whole saga shows the fickleness and hypocrisy of football in general.Brendan Rodgers says that Suarez should show Liverpool some loyalty. What loyalty did Rodgers show to Swansea ?Didn't Liverpool chase Suarez whilst he was under contract to Ajax.Arsenal are no different. We have seen our players poached by other teams but we have no problem when we see our club trying to buy players who are under contract. You now hear Arsenal fans singing songs about RVP being a rapist just as Man Utd fans sang about him being a rapist before he joined their team.

He's only 40, and for me is a great addition. Once he settled our team we were on fire after Christmas. What managers can say they've won anything relevant at 40. Did Wenger at 40? did Fergie at 40?

Rodgers plays good attacking football and since the new year we scored more goals than any other team in the PL (90% sure?). It was the spell before the new year when he was settling in that ****ed our season.

Talking of trophies (and I'm not looking for an argument here) I seem to believe it's been 7 or 8 years since you've won ANYTHING.

I think getting Rodgers in was a brave move. What they wanted to do is start off from the beginning and build something special. But for Rodgers to criticise Wenger is rediculous. We've gone through the whole building process, a process that has been quite painful, losing all our best players to bigger clubs and direct competitors. But Arsenal has gone through the rough patch and is ready to start to challenge again. Unfortunately for Liverpool, they will have to go through the very same process. They've lost Torres and now Suarez is looking to go to.

I agree that football in general is extremely fickle. But the amount of **** we got from EVERY clubs supporters about Suarez was unbelievable - and in the end all these clubs would have jumped at the chance of him playing for them, like Arsenal are now.

True. But I've been around these boards long enough to have read some extremely strong statements from Arsenal fans and other teams fans about Suarez. I'm just not sad enough to spend half a day getting a load of quotes together <ok>

There are those who have said they'd never want him here, I'm just not one of them.

Spurs and Porto do not come out and publicly have a go at their players' suitors. Rodgers comments are disrespectful to Arsenal and John Henry's tweet is even worse. It's just one of MANY things your PR team has got all wrong when it comes to Suarez. I understand LFC don't want to sell but at least be professional about it. Rodgers is acting like a child in a playground.

That's why I didn't actually generalise as you first thought, I actually said the 'majority' <ok>

And you know full well PISKIE it was the majority...
