It's no secret that I can't stand Suarez so it's probably unsurprising that I think he's very much in the wrong here. Liverpool have worked their arses off trying to help the guy and taken a fair share of the flak on ocassion by doing so. I could understand that he wants CL football or is fed up with the media here, like he said, but it was disrepectful to come out and ask for a move like that. On top of that, if it is true that he wants to go to Arsenal then all the whinging about life in England forcing him to leave was a load of bs. Now it doesn't surprise me at all that Suarez has publicly turned his back on the club and fans he seemed to love so much, or that he lied in his reasons for wanting to leave but I feel for the 'Pool fans we've been there with Modric acting like a total arse too.

Maybe the Liverpool fans will join the hope that Bale's going nowhere and that Real put that Higuain money towards signing Suarez so at least if he leaves you don't have to look at his ugly mug anymore. Some Spurs fans are worried about Arsenal signing Suarez(I just want the **** out of the country) so it would be mutually beneficial if this were to happen.

Fair point, but Gerrard has leadership, workrate, influence and no small ability. His star is fading but he is still a top midfielder. Henderson brings balance to the midfield - workrate, short passing, pressing etc. A tidy player he is, if not brilliant. Both will have a large role to play.

The nail on the head has been hit, yes.

  4. Serious question.

Roy Rodgers has come out in the press today and stated that Arsenal's bid of £40,000,001 for Goofy is "way off the valuation," by which I take that to mean that it is several £million off the mark.

So how much is he worth? If 'Pool don't put a valuation on him, how are clubs (like Arsenal and Real) to know how much to bid?

Levy hasn't put a price on Bale, because he's made it clear that Bale isn't for sale. 'Pool appear to be using exactly the same tactic with Goofy, except that Goofy has made it abundantly clear that he wants out of Klanfield. Because it seems to me that 'Pool will simply keep rejecting any offer that is put to the club, holding Goofy prisoner. I cannot see how it is at all sensible to keep a player at a club against his wishes. Levy didn't do that with either Berbatov or Modric.

To my mind, £40,000,001 must be a good price for the player, otherwise why would 'Pool have put that specific figure in Goofy's contract, unless the intention, all along, was to stitch him right up?

I really cannot see how any of this is going to end well for 'Pool.

£40m is already £5m over what he is worth IMO. If he wasn't a dirty little scumbag then maybe £45-50m based on the ridiculous Cavani price. But he is a dirty little scumbag and like it or not, that will and should affect his price

I actually think that if Suarez says he wants to go to Arsenal, and they offer a price acceptable to Liverpool be it £45 mil or whatever, there will be a swift phone call to Madrid, saying 'match this offer and he's yours'. I really don't see us selling him to Arsenal at any price.

And HIAG, there is no buy out clause in his contract. Arsenal met the amount required just to talk to him.

i just can't see Liverpool selling to Arsenal fullstop, a bit like us/Modric/Chelsea. Strengthening your rival is a dumb move. Arsenal did it last year but RVP specifically wanted to go to Utd, i can't see Suarez wanting to specifically go to Arsenal. Lets not forget Modric wanted to go to Chelsea, yet the little **** didn't complain too much when Real came knocking.

  9. So, what is the point of that clause?

Do you reckon that Goofy was stitched-up, thinking that he was signing a contract with a proper buy-out clause in it?

How do you or anybody else know if this is true? All sorts of rumours and nobody knows exactly what is going on with Goofy.

Sewerez is realistically worth around £35m, and a £40m bid is excellent money. The mousers are just being greedy and appear determined to fleece whoever bids.

Sewerez is a good player but over rated by Liverpool loving media and pundits.

Only the people who have seen the contract could possibly know. I'm guessing you're not one of them <doh>

They will sell. The problem is not the amount but the timing. If they sell now they will be expected to spend the money but if they wait until late August they can claim there wasn't time to get anyone and pocket the dish.

I just find it bizarre Liverpool and Arsenal of all teams would let this overhang into August when it doesn't benefit either of them. Have they not checked who they are playing around that date?

SSN reported earlier today, that if an offer of over £40 mil was made, Liverpool had to tell Suarez. They don't even have to let him talk to them if they don't want to.

I also read the Liverpool Echo, which is generally bang on about LFC. They reported weeks ago that there was no buy out clause.

How exactly does a Journalist for the Liverpool Echo (or any other newspaper for that matter) know the intimate contents of a PL footballers contract?

For all anybody knows, Sewerez`s contract may have stipulations where by player, agent and club must not reveal any details of said contract.

Nobody knows, you dont know, the Liverpool Echo doesnt know and the Queen doesnt know either.

You're correct. I don't know and I don't claim to know. I'm just trying to point you to stuff I've read by more reputable journalists, who generally report facts. To be honest I don't really give a ****, just want it sorted one way or the other.
