I think this is the real deal for us, poaching all of Inter and Udinese's scouts.

Every new signing, including Mannone who terrifies me after having WonderMig, looked excellent today, I think it was needed after some horror signings.

We'll be half decent this year, and the lads are fit as **** under Paolo, he's been torturing the ****ers, ha.

You can't beat players that run through walls for a team. Give me ten workaholics of flash dans any day of the week <ok>

The Independent claim that Suarez and his agent believe Arsenal's offer has triggered a clause forcing Liverpool to sell, as they finished outside the top four, and do not know why the bid has been rejected.

"Suarez and his agent, Pere Guardiola, brother of the Bayern Munich manager Pep, have worked on the understanding that a clause in the player’s contract states that Liverpool’s failure this season to secure Champions League football means any bid in excess of £40m from a club in the competition would require Liverpool to sell the player. They are mystified as to why Liverpool have rejected the Arsenal bid out of hand."

So this could force them to give him us without upping the bid. If so Wenger has just performed the ultimate WUM

How can an agent not know what clauses are in a contract? How useless must he be?

I'll wait and see what the situation is come 1 September, its bloody easier <laugh>

The Telegraph are also reporting that the clause we triggered was a release clause and Liverpool must sell.

Interesting. Of course if they choose to ignore it, Suarez and his agent could take them to court, no?

If there is a clause then there is ****all we can do about it. Pretty sure the club wouldn't have acted like this if that was the case though.

Plus, if that does prove to be the case then a few others will show an interest too.

I think it is fair to say nobody is 100% certain what the clause is, in fact Suarez and/or Liverpool may not even be certain so it is all guesswork for us. But Arsenal knew that by triggering it would get things started, hopefully things will pick up by the end of the week and we will know where we stand in terms of realistic chances of actually signing him.
