This but I'd prefer us to **** him over and sell him to whoever (foreign club wise) is willing to cough up

Problem for you is that there are only possibly two clubs interested in Suarez, us and Madrid, and they have not even made their interest formal.

Maybe not the CL, but I think we can challenge for the league if we got him and one or two other players. Saying he will not win trophies with us smacks of desperation tbh.

Yes and I'm sure Suarez is pushing thru a move to spend his last years 'challenging' for the league. Last year you made hard work of even getting 4th. Chelsea, City and United will all be ahead of you for the next couple years at least.

I can't see Madrid bettering our bid and at the end of the day, money talks.

Man City have shown an interest before but they've since bought Negredo and Jovetic. Maybe if they sell Dzeko?

I also think Real are playing the waiting game. If they are, Luis will already know.

To be honest mate, that just smacks of bitterness. Suarez is 26 so it's hardly his 'last years'. I know you're ****ed off with Suarez, we were with RVP, but most of the Liverpool lads on here are taking this in their stride.

You need a GK, CB and CM as well as Luis to challenge IMO <ok>

Edit: We need nearly a whole team <laugh>

Gotta crawl before you can walk. IF, and it's a big if, you can manage to keep hold of Luis it may offer you the opportunity to attract other talents to Anfield and you can get a challenge for a CL place going in the next season or two. I still think you are short of a few world class players and too reliant on moments of brilliance from Suarez and Gerrard. I think we are still short of some players too, DM, ST and CB, mainly. I think if we sign players for those positions we can challenge for the title, perhaps not this season but maybe the next.

His next club will probably be his last at the top of his game. If he moves to you he'll not end up at Real and for sure that's where he'll want to be. Unless he ****s you over too next summer

I agree that his next club will be where he plays at the peak of his career, hopefully that will be with us. If we do buy him then all we need to do is stick a release figure in his clause for whatever price we give you for him <ok> job done. And if Real come sniffing we can tell them to **** off unless they meet it.

I think we have a couple of players with the potential to become top class (I don't like the term 'world class') such as Coutinho (still young), Sturridge (needs to stay fit) and Sterling (very young) but we lack the players for the here and now. Gerrard s getting on a bit now too.

Personally, I think we need a dominant CB, a DM to challenge Lucas (he's our only DM), a striker and, if Suarez goes, another attacking player (able to play forward and wings) too. We could also do with getting a LB (Aly Cissokho looks to be on his way) and since Reina just about to go to Napoli, a decent back-up keeper for Migs too (Brad Jones <laugh>).

I have absolutely no doubt that if Luis joins Arsenal he will **** you over in a year or two. He wants to play for Barca or Real, he has made this perfectly clear!

Not a chance ... :emoticon-0107-sweat

<laugh>

He said the Barca / real thing either just before or just after joining us (I think it was the latter). My opinion was "fine, he needs to do the business for us to get that move and we'll make a tidy sum in the process". Least you'll get the performances <laugh>

Like I said, we'll just whack a massive release clause in his contract and recoup anything that we give to you. It will also give us the chance to **** about with Barca and Real and get our own back if they come sniffing <laugh>

You looked like a different side when Sturridge played last season. Clearly one for the future. Haven't seen much of Coutinho personally. Also think your side has too many average players, i.e. Spearing, Downing, Henderson, Johnson, Skrtel, etc. Need to get rid of and replace with proper talent (and I'm not speaking down, because I know Arsenal have had their fair share of flops as well). There were signs last season that Liverpool may be coming to life again. If Suarez goes I would definitely use the money to buy some good strikers and try to build from there. I honestly don't know what your transfer dealings are, or will be so I can't say for sure what will happen. It should be a great season though, I'm looking forward to it already.

Spearing will go, we agreed a deal for him to go to Blackburn but he turned it down (can't blame him)

Downing needs to go asap. Send him anywhere and I'll pay his bus fare!!!

Henderson is a very good squad player, the type that Man Utd built their dynasty on. high wages for a squad player though.

I like Johnson but I'm inclined to agree. Not because he's not good enough but because he is one of many players that represent the last three or four years (he came in the season after we finished second)

Skrtel - I couldn't agree more. You won't find a bigger Liverpool supporting critic of him!!!

Not sure what to make of the four incoming players either TBH.

Having fun Dev? <laugh>

This is the most you've been on their board ain't it? <laugh><ok>

Yep, most I've been on any board other than ours <ok>

PS...told you Arsenal fans I thought you were alright <laugh>

Agree with all of that, one of the signings I am made up with is the Mig, quality GK and proven in the PL <ok>
