You sound a bit desperate to get him <whistle>

As I've said, realistically he is worth about £30m. However, you have to allow for British-based-tax and rival-tax, not to mention other players such as Neymar, Cavani, etc going for a lot more <ok>

Hell yes I'm desperate to get him, i hope we get him, GIVE HIM TO US NOW! Take 40 million with 5 million add ons, is that not good business for you?

Players like Neymar, Cavani and Falcao who have all gone for mega money are all better than Suarez imo and all had mega rich clubs competing for there signatures. At the moment it would seem the only concrete interest in Suarez is from Arsenal with a vague sign of interest from RM who i dont think will pay big for him. So although im sure you will get a good fee for him if we sign him, i can't see it being as high as £50mil. Anything over £40mil will be good business for Liverpool and give them the money to srengthen the squad.
Nope

We had Coutinho, Sturridge, Sterling and Gerrard around him, hardly Queens Park Rangers is it <doh>

Why is that a facepalm?

As a neutral, I'd take Santi, Podolski & Wilshere before any of those Liverpool lads. Granted Coutinho looks a bit special, but we'll see.

Sturridge over Walcott, yeah, but then, I wasn't digging at Liverpool, I was pointing out the wider benefit to Arsenal, if you wanna make it a dig at Liverpool post, you crack on, but that isn't what it was.

Arsenal did, of course, finish above you without Luis.

Maybe not but he is touted as being the next big brazilian star, already plays at international level for Brazil and has just been signed up by Barca who where competiting with the mega rich clubs for his signature - it's understandble why he went for a large fee and obvious how his transfer differs from the proposed Suarez to Arsenal transfer.

He is such a tool, he said if they keep Suarez they will finish above us, but if we sign him he will win us the PL and CL. Yea I am sure Suarez is the difference between finishing 7th and winning Europe's elite competition.

I think Rodgers is developing a good style of play and a good premiership team - but not a top 4 team. There are a handful of quality players but nowhere near enough depth to there squad yet to really compete at the top. And i think the project is still in its early stages.

At Arsenal the top 4 squad is already in place, adding Suarez and another signing or two is pushing us on to the next level as we have no big departures this year and all our big names are on long contracts and happy.

I can't see who Liverpool are going to be able to dislodge from the top 4, particularly since all of the Top 4 seem open to spending during this window and are capable of attracting better players. And unless spurs and everton both do significantly worse this season then they are going to be exactly where they are this season.

Facepalm was due the complete lack of respect you showed towards those Liverpool players. fair enough, I can accept a lot would chose those players over ours but your point was about Suarez making space for those players to exploit which is something he was supposed to do for us with the players I mentioned. It didn't happen because Suarez is too busy trying to do it all himself.

You said Sturridge over Walcott. I'd say Gerrard over Wilshire (for now, especially considering injury records). Cazorla over Coutinho (again, for now) which leaves Podolski (clearly) over Sterling. IMO, there is not that much in it <ok>

Apologies if my response offended you, it wasn't my intention <ok>

I can understand why Liverpool and their fans are ****ed off with Suarez. It's the same as us with RVP, it hurts when your best player wants to join another PL club. I've got nothing against Liverpool at all and I think our clubs' have been through a similar journey through history, for the most part there is a good deal of respect between Arsenal and Pool fans. In some way I wish it was us taking somebody like Bale off of the spuds, but at the end of the day, we need to be ruthless to get what we want and if that means condemning Liverpool to losing their best player to strengthen us, then I'm for it 100%

Walcott is better than Sturridge. I'd take Wilshere over Gerrard all day long, same with Podolski over Sterling and Cazorla over Coutinho....

The BBC article on it is full of Liverpool fans going on about how its not a step up to Arsenal and how they are the bigger club. Stating that there sell out crowds in asia show how much bigger they are.... Do Liverpool think they are the only club on asian tours selling out grounds?....

I wasn't offended mate, was more the fact that I hadn't had any kind of swipe at 'Pool.

Seemed a strange reaction, I know Suarez would have an impact at Arsenal because I've SEEN him have an impact at Liverpool, with Liverpool's players.
