Below is an extract for SSN transfer interactive! After Macca asked about the Peruzzi medical fiasco he said to Graeme Bailey...... well Vélez Sársfield said yesterday that Peruzzi passed a medical in Rome by Macca 12:51 PM Followed by his response....... Thing with Peruzzi deal is Macca, it doesnt surprise me that Italian interest has arrived, we can't forget who his cousin is, and so the lure of Serie A is always likely to be very strong. by GRAEME BAILEY 12:52 PM Was that medical for Rome FC's sudden interest Graeme????? What a berk! That's finger on the pulse journalism that is!!!
I am totally with the club and PDC on this, we cant afford to buy players even with slight injury as it could still turn out to be severe in the future. Look what happens when you take a risk, they just end up never player and how many times have we been stung like this in the past (Angeleri, Mensah, Brown, Bramble, Mangane) You cant build a team around someone whos never in the team, well played SAFC. Still a bit worried with the full back situation but this is where Di Fanti and crew earn their corn, c'mon lads!!!
They are desperate, judging by the many quotes that I have read coming directly from the Argies! I remember reading that any breakdown would leave them with all sorts of problems. Cant remember why.....financial probably, but I cant be arsed to go back and check!
Now I've read that Sky article and apart from the headline and the opening sentence there is nowhere where it says the move is off. The Quote from paolo "At the moment, there is no chance for Gino Peruzzi to join us," said Di Canio. Does not say it's off. I've read all panic on here before I read the article and to be honest, it looks like someone said 'look at that lizard' and everyone has ran off screaming 'DRAGON!' We already know everything that article says. It's no further news that's all. I'm not saying it will happen. but there is no new information whatsoever, look at this quote. "My club is not a club that can sign at the moment a player who is injured, even though it's not a crucial injury." There's loads of transfer window yet, there's no other suitors, the lads agreed terms, Just let the club do it's job and make sure he's right to sign. This is not news, there's no new information at all other than a Paolo quote that's confirmed exactly what we knew. We've found an injury, we need to make sure everything is ok before we sign, if not ok we won't.
Paolo Di Canio has added his views to the Gino Peruzzi saga, and while the quotes are sensational make for a good headline, there's still nothing new to talk about. Everyone's back was gotten up this morning by news emerging from a press conference in Hong Kong, where Paolo Di Canio offered some pretty forthright views on the potential signing of Velez Sarsfield fullback, Gino Peruzzi. Peruzzi has been linked for a number of weeks, years it's almost beginning to feel like, and a deal is yet to be concluded. Having finally agreed terms with the player, his medical went rather poorly in that Sunderland found some ligament damage sustained last season. Di Canio said today regarding Peruzzi; At the moment, there is no chance for Gino Peruzzi to join us. My club is not a club that can sign players with some problems. We are not Manchester City who can think about buying a talented player with an injury and wait for him. We are not very late in the transfer window but I would like a player ready to join the rest of the group, because the process of integration is not just physical. They have to understand how we play which is not easy. Now obviously when everyone heard "at the moment, there is no chance" everyone immediately pointed to "no chance" and became, with reason I suppose, concerned. Unfortunately it seems far too many people jumped on it and ignored the rather crucial "at the moment". While what Paolo says is technically accurate, it doesn't half seem somewhat sensational. "We're not taking chances with injuries" he went on to say, which again is fully understandable, but nothing we didn't know yesterday when it was revealed that Peruzzi will travel to Rome later next week to meet with Dr Paolo Mariani. So whilst everyone had a bit of a nasty shock this morning, don't get too carried away. The deal is still very much at the same stage it was yesterday, with the extent of Peruzzi's injury being further assessed.
I just think we trying to get the price down because of the injury his got & in my opinion we will still sign him.
The last time we signed an Argentine RB who was recovering from a ligament injury it was Angeleri. Angeleri has only returned to form in the last 3 months, 3 years on. The club is right to be cautious.
ssn have now changed their tune and are saying its now unlikely, so its still on then!! please log in to view this image
