Barca have had other youngsters not making the grade that have gone on to become decent players though (Quaresma and Riquelme spring to mind).
On Sky Sports he's rated as 5 out of 10, http://www.skysports.com/football/player/0,,11868_248926,00.html He was out on loan a couple of times as well, what are we to read into that?
Wahey! "Midfielder Mark Fotheringham has signed a contract at Notts County after impressing during a pre-season trial." SSN
Hope he doesn't get substituted - he'll pull a stropperooni and take off his shirt in a petulant ippy-fit.
I see your dubious statistic, and raise...He's rated 75 on Fifa 13, which is the same as RvW. Therefore he's awesome.
Hooper supposedly been in London today holding talks with qpr. Hasnt he been holding talks with them for weeks now? Lol
hmm, not sure where you've got that information from boots but it's wrong - he's in the celtic squad for tonights game. they wouldn't pick him to be on the bench if he'd been in london today
Yeah its wrong. He doesnt actually exist so it cant be right. Celtic may have flown a manequin down to London for negotiations, lets face it I doubt the people at QPR would notice.
I'm astonished by some of the things being said on here regarding Maxi Lopez. He has a career record of a goal every 3.4 games, which if reproduced over a season in the PL would amount to 11 goals. Though clearly never fulfilling his early promise, he has played for decent clubs throughout his career, and under some excellent coaches. He is almost certainly far better equipped technically, and in terms of experience and understanding of different formations, than any British equivalent. For those reasons alone he could be a valuable addition to the squad. Do people trust our scouting network? Do they trust our manager (given his signings to date)? Do they trust our CEO? Some people clearly don't, since they have such little respect for their judgement that they apparently visualise the club spending £3M or so of our precious transfer funds on the equivalent of a performing seal.
Perhaps not the best video to showcase him, but nevertheless: The first one is a bit messy, but I don't believe any striker we've had in a long time could have scored that second goal. Interestingly, both Hooper and Lopez are valued at £4.4m on transfermarkt, and as Hooper has age on his side, that would perhaps suggest Lopez is the better player. Lopez has a strike rate of 61 goals and 22 assists in 201 games, all of which have come in top divisions. Hooper has 145 goals and 39 assists from 290 games, albeit with 81 of those goals in league 1 or 2. If Celtic are playing silly games and want £5m+, or we can get Lopez more quickly for £3.5m, I'm definitely swaying towards Lopez. Assuming we're going to be playing a single striker for most of the season, either would be second choice, and ideally saving money on Lopez would allow us a bigger budget for in my eyes the more important CAM/Second striker signing we need.
I take it all back. He IS a performing seal. Sign him! [Edit] If people are interested after watching DH's linked video, there is another video there also profiling Lopez.
