I always knew a small minority of Man United fans were half-heads but this takes this biscuit.
Degrading Nottingham Forest for **** sake is a sure sign.
When Forest won it for the first time,they deservedly entered it as league champions.They also on their way to the final knocked out the best team in Europe in Liverpool,the defending champions from the previous two years in the second round.Man United in 2008 knocked out the best team in Europe in Barcelona in the semi final.I doubt it if I'll hear them dispute that fact.
Some idiots will suggest that Liverpool won their 3 European Cups from 1977 to 1981,they never met a side as good as Barcelona,They were the equivalent of Barcelona.Their success proved that.
Man United fans are just sick that Liverpool even during a barren spell have been crowned Kings of Europe.And are five times winners and are something their not and that is part of Europes elite.As for the 2005 final,okay that Liverpool side in fairness was a bunch of rag-bags and underachievers.
Milan for as good as they were,got cocky at 3-0 up.Have you never heard of boxers think a fight was won as soon as they got in the ring,like when Ali was beaten by an under-dog in the 1970s.
Liverpool were the side that nobody gave a chance,not even Liverpool fans.But as poor as the side was,they had something special that money cannot buy and that is determination and heart,something the club has always been built on.Okay we've never had the top drawer superstars play for us,but most of our ''legends'' have all been born winners.They have been humble and gutsy enough to never rest on their laurels.Even our 1977 side wasn't packed with superstars.That team was packed with youth-teamers,Scunthorpe players,Blackpool players,Wrexham players,a Northampton player, and had two players just two players that came from relatively big clubs and they were Terry McDermott from Newcastle and Ray Kennedy a double winner with Arsenal.Now that in itself is a big achievement.

Here is some reasons why swashbuckler n United19red and a few other fools just can't prove an unproveable point, maybe their thick heads can take this on board
1 They quote the unfashionable names of old teams, makes it look like walkovers y'know, knowing nothing of them their form players and the reasons for their failure to win tactically.
2 Different kit\boots no pigskin for those boys, thats real ball curling you are seeing
4 Different ball that wasn't designed to "Fly"and wobble to decieve the keeper
5 Different condition of players physically compared to fine tuned reliable bodies of modern footballers, they drank a hell of a lot more, I reckon because liverpool were successful they may have indulged ina few now and then
6 Some different rules in the game now
7 Tactics are better now, but then they were simpler for all teams, not just those facing Liverpool in europe

They also refer to Heysel.Heysel affected Liverpool most out of clubs.Liverpool missed out on being in the European Cup in 1986-1987,1988-89,and 1990-1991.They missed out on the uefa cup in 1985-86,1987-88.And the Cup winners Cup in 1989-90.

A cynic would say you were using the Munich tragedy as an excuse. I'm a cynic, let's face it the disaster itself didn't do much harm to your club at all, just to the player's families.
Don't need a week, this type of debate will just keep going and going. Fact is we have something you want ( 5 Euro titles) and you have something we want( league and 19 back on our perch if you will). We are moving in the right direction and hopefully back where we don't have to talk history but banter on fighting it out for the league title and ol Big ears.
