The managers play a small part in the grand scheme of things. The second the players step out onto the turf it down to them for the most part. Its the players who win the games and every single player at United is a winner. Jose has the same players as last season bar one or two and has been unable to attract a single striker to the club so far. He has a team of players who have shown in all but 1 of the last 6 Premier league seasons that they are not good enough to win the title. Of course Jose knows how to win the league but he did so at a time when United and Arsenal were in transition and poor. Our squad compared to then is so much better its not even funny. Arsenals squad is erm.... yeh, whatever. This challenge will be completely different, no 95 points, no relentless winning ( he doesnt have the players. ) You have also forgotten something. Throughout Moyes' career he hs taken 2 sides from low position to far higher positions.Preston from division 2 to Division 1 ( almost consecutive promotions )and Everton from 15th to 8th. He's now at his first club with real chance for silverware. A vastly superior side to Everton with resources few can rival. Hes got better players in every position so if he ges out of United what he got out of the everton players ( which any everton fan will tell you is 110% ) then I couldnt care less who managers what team, its going o be tough ask to beat United to the title. Quick question. As thers logic in stating Mourinho will be the difference for chelsea, where on earth do people get the idea Pellegrini will do the same for City. Hes the Spanish O'leary and has zero PL ability. Hes achieved the sum total of nothing as well yet hes managed the likes of Real Madrid and 2 clubs who spent themselves almost out of existence. Bit like O'leary did with Leeds.
Talking of Utd. They have just played an exhibition match in Sydney - which they won 5-1. Thing that happened in the 2nd half - Evra challenged fora ball his foot was nearly neck high, both players clattered to the ground Evra got injured and because it was a friendly the ref did nothing. Even in non competition games that sort of thing should not be allowed, but because its Man Utd it was ignored.
You are aware we are the only club ( least that I can remember ) thats had a player banned for a challenge in a friendly. So no, we dont get away with anything. Thinking about it, Joey bartons probably been banned due to something in pre season.
UIR what has that got to do with anything. Doesn't matter who it is or when it takes place you can't have your foot at that height , what if a player suffers a serious injury, do you say oh well its only pre season. BTW anything Barton does will get him banned!
You may be right, and in that sense, he's no better or worse than Moyes. We could well be watching £ity battle it out with United for 2nd spot, behind Chelsea. However, I fancy £ity because they will have by far the better squad of players.
Hiag what you make of United's second bid for fabregas. Think he will be our player soon enough. Also gives us the best midfield in the league and if you consider we already have the best attack makes us pretty darn good.
How does it give you the best midfield in the league? Carrick and Fabregas will be your only good centre mids.
Best midfield in the league? Muhahahahahahahhanaha. The only one that would get in the 5th placed teams midfield would be fabregas and he isn't even yours yet
Yeah we've noticed with the 2000 posts you've had on our board spurting the same boring bs for the last 3-4 days. I know you must be young, prob only ever known Fergie, but you need to read what you are saying. No Utd fan in their right mind would say their midfield is better than Chelsea's (for example), even with fabregas. Remember you were trying to sign a bit part (at that point) Lampard just last season to improve your mid
You are entitled to your opinion but in my opinion a midfield of fabregas, carrick and kagawa is the best in the league. I'll give my reasons regardless of your poor opinion of United. Carrick is one of the leagues best midfielders, few would dispute it and the ones that do are not worth talking too. Voted as Uniteds POTY in a season we had David De Gea in brilliant form and RvP a one man goal machine. United voted or Carrick. Kagawa is still a bit of an unknown quality to some I feel. he started off slowly and injuries didnt help. However as the season went on he showed some real quality and at time the link up play involving him was epic. Fabregas was the best midfielder in the PL 2 yeas ago, he will be the best midfielder IF he signs ( for any side ). Theres my reasons. Beyond our first choice midfield things are not so good but thats not the point. You probably disagree and thats wonderful. Im just giving my reasons and if you feel the need to have a cry about a rial fan talking about his team in a rival watch thread then go ahead. Personally I think its funny as **** you calling me young when you consider your moaning about someone posting on the internet but hey, who am i to stop you? Just so you know, I could be around 30 and still have only known SAF at United..... jut so you know
Yup, because we couldn find someone to go along side carrick. The too young lads we have coulnt keep fit ( though when they did we tended to smash teams to bits ( you guys will remember as will your North London rivals ) but 15 games seasons didnt cut it. So we brought back an old face to help us out. Hardly a bad thing.
They would get completely over ran by Toure and Fernandinho. You have the worst midfield out of the top five and even with Fabregas it's lack lustre.
Hazard, Oscar, Mata - Chelsea's midfield. Plus - seeing as you're assuming Fabregas will sign, let's assume De Rossi signs for Chelsea. Boom, a 4 man midfield that is more creative and just as solid on the ball than Uniteds. Then let's look at Spurs - Sandro, Dembele, Paulinho - ridiculously powerful midfield with solid defensive capabilities. We lack goals from the midfielders and a spark of creativity but I wouldn't say it's far off Uniteds. Next - Man City. Silva, Fernandinho, Toure, Navas - there's another midfield. Toure and Silva were the 2 keys to City winning the title 2 years ago. There's more creativity and physicality than United can offer. United's midfield is very good - I think Kagawa will show more this season than last. But to say it's the league's best? Not so sure.
Yeh I doubt it. Toure & Fernandinho We currently do.......add fabregas and the entire situation changes.
With delusion this strong, I wonder if the Red in your username is actually referring to Arsenal - or maybe Liverpool
