I completely agree, be interesting to see how he does in the Championship this season. He'll either be brilliant like he was a couple of years ago or he'll sulk all season.
It would appear Benteke has signed a contract extension at Villa. Pretty sure that isn't how you go about forcing a move elsewhere, dammit.
I'm not convinced at all that Hooper has demonstrated that he is good enough to be busting a gut to get him.As for Taarabt he seems to provide a couple of touches of brilliance per game combined with a lot of petulance and potential disruption.
I don't think he has even voiced the opinion that he wants to join us? I disagree about Tarrabt, on his day he is unplayable. Its a shame that he is such a colossal arsehole.
Surely no chance of that, that'd be suicidal? We already come across as desperate for a striker, to leave ourselves with a single striker removes an awful lot of bargaining power.
Cant let him go, he isn't even a out and out striker. He is the next best thing we have apart from rickydogscock. How did ricky get on in the friendly, I had dreams that he would score 1000 goals and would float of the pitch like the messiah at the final whistle.
Just looked him up on wiki. He is 29 and his career seems to have stalled recently. Played 17 times for sampdoria and very few goals last season. On the plus side he has been considered good enough for Barcelona and AC Milan in the past. Also, his wife would be a pretty good addition to the city... http://ts1.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4896036154902284&pid=1.9&w=300&h=300&p=0
Not exactly a prolific striker (81 goals in 279 career appearances) and he ain't young at 29. Seems like a strange one to go for. According to this article (That sites talks***t as it's source) we are willing to pay £3.5mil. Seems a bit steep for a player that has only scored 7 goals in 2 years!
Actually TalkS says "valued at £3.5M"; they don't even know whether we are interested, never mind how much we might be offering. Anyway, we've already got one good looking Argentine striker. Why would we want a second? The only reason I can think of is it's a cunning plan by DM to ensure sell-out crowds every match and constant publicity due to the number of TV cameras permanently aimed at the directors' box.
Not very keen on Lopez myself. He never really made it at Barcelona and got shipped out on loan a lot. Did better in Moscow, but then has stuttered of late for Campania, being sent out on loan. Has also been accused of racism, although it's not been proven. I would prefer Suffolk's suggestion of Kevin de Bruyne on loan. Playing as an AM he scored 10 goals in 32 games on loan at Werder Bremen last year. Not sure whether he plays wide or in the hole, though. At 22, he's already played 12 times for Belgium.
Mourinho has already told De Bruyne he is going to be in the Chelsea 25 this season, in which case he won't be going anywhere on loan. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-despite-interest-from-Borussia-Dortmund.html I think we should be looking for an older player myself, to bring not just extra quality but some experience to AM. If only Wes would step up in that respect, but he just seems to go on and on being Wes! Unless, that is, his recently being given a deeper role for Ireland indicates that Hughton and Trappatoni between them have got the message across.
