Paulinho is apparently not returning yet as he's got a 3 week holiday. Not sure if true but it was said by a couple guys on Twitter who don't normally bullshit. Any reason as to why Benny and Ade have had more time off Spurcat? Neither played internationals, did they?
My boss has just got me and my boys tickets for the colchester game on the Friday (my eldest is a spurs fan and he is really excited) do you know (roughly) who will be playing?
The Spurs XI are playing tonight against Kingstonian, I believe, so it should be the main squad + a few youngsters on Friday.
It'll likely be our first team mate with a couple of youngsters. So expect to see Bale, Lloris, Vertonghen, Dembele etc play at least 45 mins I reckon. Our Spurs XI are playing tonight so the majority of youngsters/ squad players will be in that game and I can't see any of them playing 2 days later, so as I said, reckon you should be in for a decent first team turnout, enjoy

Kingstonian 0 Spurs 4 Another hot evening to be out watching football and a decent sized crowd were treated to a fine football display from this young Spurs side. Kick off was scheduled to be 7:45, but with the Spurs team bus stuck in traffic, this was put back until 8:00. Then Spurs arrived in time for the original starting time so the referee said we would begin at 7:45. Sherwood wasn't having this, insisting our squad needed time to go through our full pre-match warm up routine, so the game eventually got under way at 7:55. This full warm up certainly worked as we controlled his game throughout the entire evening. Kingstonian never got going and any attempts they had, were all very high and very wide. Jordan Archer in the first half and Johnathan Miles in the second, merely collected a couple of routine crosses and that was their evenings work. Ceballos was head and shoulders above any other player on the pitch. He beat them on the right, he beat them on the left, he took them on inside and still beat them. Frankly he was running their defenders ragged, although the quality of their play was average, it shouldn't detract from his fine display. With Kenneth McEvoy carrying on his good form at the end of last season, Spurs were always going to be creating chances. More than four goals would probably have done serious damage to Kingstonian's confidence, but in reality if this game had been played deeper into our pre-season schedule, when the players could be expected to be sharper, then his would have been a potential thrashing. Frankly we were queuing up to shoot such was our dominance. Adam Smith played at LB, and seems physically stronger for his time away in the Championship, Gallifuoco also impressed and Obika led the line reasonably well, although I always think he should be a stand out performer against this level of opposition if he is going to make it at Spurs. Simon Dawkins, back from his loan spell at Aston Villa, did ok and did take his goal well, but the real star of the evening was Ceballos. A dazzling display and I hope we see more of him as this season progresses.
Goals: McEvoy (7), Obika (20), Dawkins (58), Ceballos (90) We seem to be trying various youngsters at left back at the moment - Byrne was playing that position before his loan and eventual release last season, and now (as OS says) Smith is as well. Dare we hope that somebody has it in them to be able to fill in at either full back role, something Naughton certainly didn't do last season?
just passing on what i read this morning. Hopefully it's just one of those sick rumours that go round every summer.
Line-ups for the game with Colchester: Friedel; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose; Huddlestone, Sigurdsson, Carroll; Townsend, Falque, Adebayor. Subs: Lloris, Naughton, Fryers, Caulker, Assou-Ekotto, Parker, Dombaxe, Bentaleb, Coulthirst, Kane, Defoe, Vigouroux Bale and Lennon rested after picking up knocks in training. Arse...
****ing hell. Seriously - Please name Bale in the god damn squad next time AVB - Even if he's injured and cant play. Now we will have 400 stories in the morning starting with - "Bale senstaionally pulled out of Tottenham's friendly with Colchester last night......."
Clearly demonstrating we don't need a striker. 0-0 against friggin Colchester. Woe is me - is it the end of the season yet?
