I think you are trying a bit too hard mate. Women can't stand the thought that a bloke isn't the least bit interested in them.

Their massive self centred egos demand that you be totally fascinated by them and if you are not it leaves them devastated and then they come grovelling.

Women are simple souls my friend although they would like you to think they are oh so very complex.

Women like a shag as much as you do but they would like you to play their elaborate, complex and rather silly games.

My advice is don't join in. Just be self confident and disinterested and they will be begging you for it.

Maybe PL should try reading The Game or something? I haven't read it myself but I'm told there's some reasonable points about male-female interaction and psychology in there.

 

If you want to be a complete douchebag, sure. From the bits I've seen excerpted, it seems mostly to be a guide to eking out one-night-stands with girls who have low self-esteem.

 

Well I'm not suggesting following it as a step-by-step guide to success but from what I've heard I thought that as well as saying "Acting this way will get you lots of women" it also had stuff along the lines of "Doing these things will generally turn women off because…" which could be useful. I know a few people who've read it and found it interesting without becoming skirt-chasing knobs. If you're right about the way it's written then that might be a problem.

I suppose it depends on whether you care about other people's feelings.

 

That you have to be a pretty pathetic person to need help getting one-offs with girls with self-esteem issues, if you're even okay with going down that route. I mean, ****, it's not difficult.

Fair enough, I'm not going to defend a book I haven't read. Although I would say it's fairly clear the Guardian are picking the worst parts of the book to highlight. There may be some interesting stuff in there but perhaps there are better places to get it.

I suggested it because I know others who've read it and found it interesting. I also remember reading an article a few years ago called something like "How to get out of the friend zone". Its advice involved a weeks-long setup to try and get your "friend" into bed and contained similarly disparaging language to what the Guardian highlight. That part was all bollocks but at the same time there were some things in it that were interesting and which could basically be boiled down to "Don't come on too strong" but with actual examples of things that you might be doing that perhaps made it harder to get a woman interested.
