As I said on the original thread, there is more to come.

So we have two names, two brand identities that will enhance our commercial opportunity; these two identities will not blur, be mis-understood, or become a marketing contradiction. This brilliant marketing ploy has no foreseeable problems, just a long life of strategic advantage and the real benefit of affirming our club name as Hull City AFC at every opportunity.

Those of you who like to believe that I write rubbish should fill-your-boots, as rubbish is what that statement is. The two identities will be uneasy bedfellows and will not last and that will leave the dilemma of which one stays (sic). You can draw your own conclusions on that one.

It is the legal right of an owner to rebrand his company; its customers have an option to voice disapproval, but ultimately it is just hot air. But there is the vital element of trust that should be sacrosanct in this Hodge-podge of muddled messages and that trust is very hard to invest on the basis of what we are seeing and hearing. The stadium impasse with accusations of shifty business, the Barmby bollocks that was overshadowed by largesse and now these mealy-mouthed words that strike at the core of what a club is - it's identity.

Our heritage is only inglorious if you trade accomplishment purely in terms of our league position. What about the battles to become established, the years of almost there and the shame of the locked gate? This is our bitter-sweet history that has been supported at the turnstile over the years, some years more than others. Assem Allam chose to buy our club to keep it alive, so why is he intent on destroying its identity?

Be sure that our club name is at grave risk, although it looks like not everyone in the inner circle is too supportive. The owners should look back at how WYP have been humiliated in the unveiling of their lies and think twice.

If you believe I am wrong then fine, that is okay by me, I simply believe that those who continue to support the club through thick-and-thin will have regrets if they do not oppose this now.

    Hull Tigers
Does remember when British Airways got their marketing wrong? There has I believe been a problem, I don't know what the exact problem is but the solution from the club is to start using Hull Tigers.
It's wrong but I do not hold with the view that its anything more than a solution to a problem that was done without giving the supporters a chance to air their views.
Portsmouth actually added City to their name a few years back?

I know. Someone should have tweeted it to Humberside while Sportstalk was on so NT could answer for it.

Obviously, it's the commercial side of the club that Peterbrough are playing there.

I might be in the minority, but I really like the fact that we are AFC. Most clubs are FC, and it really bothers me when lazy journalists, and especially ignorant fans, refer to us as Hull City FC.

FC, lest we forget, chase eggs.

The AFC makes us stand out among our football brethren. Why would we want to remove ourselves from the classic pub quiz question of how many teams are officially AFC and not FC?

Id rather support ferriby than our name changed to that bollocks, its ridiculous, it really ****ing is, i love going to far reached places and stating im a hull city fan, sorry im a 'hull city tigers' fan, sounds ridiculous and removes the history from the club in that instant

    Imagine a norwich city canaries

    Manchester red devils

    Newcastle magpies

    Everton toffees

    Stoke city potters

    Etc

They all including ours sound like a team belonging to a different sport

This will benefit us not one bit

That allam marine notice really pissed me off

V Hull city tigers... **** off

So many ****ing hypocritical, melodramatic queenies that can't get move the **** on. If
you wish to live in the past then become Leeds fans , you'll fit right in.

It may not prove to impact sales but
how exactly is this going to affect your day to day life?

is this going to impact the way you refer to the club to your mates at your local?
is this to change the media's already cemented disrespectful view of
our club? ( has anyone ever called us by our true name?)

is this the end of the world?

****ing grow a pair or **** off to ferriby daft drama queens.

it's as if Allams were trying to call us Allam FC get a ****ing grip

by all means write a strongly worded letter or
protest through a silent march true hugging ****s.

that won't change a damn thing because you didn't
fork out millions in the club.

    Erik you sharen't be missed.

Oh, i'm sorry because someone pumped in millions (which we are entirely grateful for) we shouldn't care what they seem fit do with the club (that we all pay a heck of a lot of money to follow) and proud if it's history and heritage of our fair city, and any name changes, badge change, kit change shouldn't matter?

Everton fans hated their new badge and it's back to the original after next season

You can pump money in, hold lap dances in the vip box, sell the players and buy daryl duffys but you font mess with the tradition, history and heritage especially when it will have no beneficial gains

Owners, staff and players all come ago but the fans will always be there through generation and generation

Enjoy that march...Make sure to keep that daft moronic trap of yours shut.

    hope you get sunstroke.

    That ****ing
    history and heritage you bang
    on about is meaningful
toI NO ONE other than fans of the club. No one outside the city has ever called us Hull city AFC so what exactly is going to change? instead of
calling us HULL OR HULL FC itll now
be something more homogenous and logical.

So on that basis it wouldn't matter if sunderland changed their name to 'sunderland black cats' as no one ever calls them sunderland afc..

You're digging yourself into a hole and soon the jcb arm won't reach

The club has been as it is for over 100 years, and we gained massive global attention in 2008 when promoted... Our badge and NAMe was seen around the world as it was in may

As a fan, why would you want the name to be changed? Its part of the ****ing club, whether paul merson states 'hull' hull city afc' or hull city

For **** sake man, you must be taking the piss?

Why not change your name by deed poll to 'max power' you could get girls pawing all over you? Even if it takes away all your earlier life history and memories eh? <laugh>

    wow!
I see that the world is populated by 2 kinds of people, 1 those that think change can be a good thing and 2; those who are scared of change.

I now know where people stand.

LOOK.. it is THEIR club.. they can do what the **** they want with it.
I have a few points that I'd like to make.

1 why is everyone bleating about our heritage? until VERY recently, our heritage was scraping along the bottom of the 4th division, trying to stay in the football league.
you lot sound worse than L**DS fans for living in the past.

2 if it wasn't for the Allams we would now be liquidated. I for one embrace change - the glass is ALWAYS half full!
although some of you should get a refund cos there seem to be a hole in yours!

    and lastly...

    brady's bunch?

I'm not sure if you're on the wind up or if you have been on the shandy.

A name change doesn't effect the game play does it?

"a rose by any other name would not smell as sweet?"

Cardiff changed their badge and it all went wrong for them didn't it??
