Yeah, AN might write another sternly worded letter about something that isn't happening.

I agree. He (NT) was very careful in his choice of words. I think this is a deliberate slow drip tactic.

EDIT 'as far as NT is aware'. 'I cannot foresee...' bullshoite

Maybe he's just aware that one slightly wrong word, will be taken way out of context and turn into a huge drama online then used as proof of <insert load of bollocks here>. I know, crazy right?

Why mend something that isn't broke? or in this case change something that doesn't need changing. If some sponsor comes forward to purchase the club offering 500 million quid for the right to rebrand the club then I could understand there might be a dilemma and something to debate .As this isn't the case I suggest the Allams leave well alone.

Without doubt Happy, but he could simply say that the owners have no wish, desire or aim to change the name. Unless I missed it, he hasn't. I've never heard any club tying itself in knots over the name of the company/team. They're testing the water to gauge the reaction.

Thanks to those involved,in wording this letter this letter perfectly. Iv'e just read it,and then skipped straight to writing this, because i know how,and why i hold this opinion, and i don't need to read the opinions of the terminally contrary bores, who will inevitably...um...be contrary.

We are Hull city afc. Some fans call us Hull or Ull,and some the tigers. I usually just say City,as do most others. But one thing we all know,is the name of our club is,Hull city afc. And it will always be Hull City afc.

I can't think though, why would anyone want to change our club name anyway ? We play in black and amber, and there's a tiger's head emblem on our shirt. We have a chap in a fancy dress tiger suit running around the place, and when we go three goals up,the whole crowd proceeds to mock claw the opposition.

We are the Tigers.Who could have known,eh ?

    I just mean,what's the point ?

If the owners have something in mind ,why not state it and have a public referendum ,stating the possible names the reasons for change and let the HULL CITY AFC supporters vote in a democratic way to determine the outcome.
Then even I ,who would hate any change ,would be willing to accept whatever happens.

ps not that the Allams would really care what I preferred after 65 years of following Hull City AFC

Or else the Allams and Thompson might wake up with a horse's head in their beds.

    ;)

I have an American friend a fan of the Patriots. He knows I am a City Supporter and we frequently talk about the two teams. Even though I refer to my team as City and occasionally The Tigers, he always refers to them as "The Hull City Tigers"!

Why and how ? And would this slight change, outweigh the beneficial heritage, this club has ?

There isn;t going to be any beneficial change to a potential rebranding.

No ****er will buy our stuff in Asia, because they're to busy stocking up on fake Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Barca, Real & Brazil kits. They clearly want successful teams not one whose idea of a good seson is finishing 17th.

    This.

Having been to Thailand a few times, I can tell you that the only kits you see are the big clubs, bar the billionaire clubs (ie. PSG, Monaco, Man City).

Although I did manage to find a Hull shirt when I went in late 2008...

Wonder how long it'll be before a club name is changed to a sponsors name, like New York Red Bulls. I think they where New York Metro Stars.
