I know this is going to sound really miserable, but I wish it would cool down just a little, I feel so sluggish all the time. Can understand the whole siesta thing now!

Cheers all, hoping I can hold onto it through next year now :D

Make sure you're enjoying yourself as much as working though. It may help you short term in terms of securing a graduate programme (depending on what you want to do career-wise), or progressing in academia, but in reality it's stops being relevant after an initial job. Basically, don't kill yourself trying to get a first!

I don't think I'd be able to get a first anyway even if I worked day and night! But thanks :D I just hope this year goes slower than the last two.

So annoyed. Was due to be in Basingstoke tomorrow but that was changed at the last minute (well about 3pm this afternoon) which is annoying as I was hoping to get an opportunity to ask that girl out. Now I can't and so there's not really much I can do. Added her on the work's social media, so could always ask her on that (as people do use it for social reasons) but asking via the interweb wouldn't be ideal, although my asking-in-person success rate is 0%, while using phone and internet, it's slightly above 0.

But even not thinking of her, disappointed to not be in Basingstoke, as I prefer it and get on better with the people there (though that may be because of being there for longer). Plus the commute is 4 times shorter. That's especially pertinent as both yesterday and today, there have been quite long delays at Waterloo. Stupid British public transport and their inability to cope with warm weather. *sigh*

Chill Winston.....

Call her and say how disappointed you were not to be going to Basingstoke as you were looking forward to seeing her. Pause for her to go quiet and fluttery. Then say is there any chance you could meet up for a drink. If she says no, accept it as this is your job you're talking about.

Or you could spend months faffing around. i think i know your choice, sadly.

Or pause to hear her say **** off. Either way least he will know where he stands.

I know what you mean. I don't mind it so much during the day (possibly because the office is air conditioned) but at night the heat's just oppressive at the moment.
