If you don't care about name changes, you shouldn't really be bothered if people start calling you TygerPlastic.
Personally, I wouldn't actively seek this (or any) name change. However, to be fair, beyond Goole Bridge everybody just calls us "Hull" anyway. Within Hull, everybody calls us "City" or "The Tigers" - that won't change. There are loads of City's, we are always going to be known as "Hull" to everybody else, unless perhaps we went more with the "Tigers" part to become a little more recognisable. If there was a vote, i'd vote against changing our name - but if it is just a marketing tool, I think it could be slightly beneficial for us.
As someone who works in online marketing this says it all for me. It's a re-directed link meaning they have bought the domain name and are already re-directing the page. This is what major brands do before shifting to a brand new website. Can't say I'm happy with this.
at the end of the day if allams plan goes tits up its his money he loses . he the business man me the supporter for life wotever name .
Were not a laughing stock noone gives a **** about us. They call us Hull all the time for one thing. And as a silly **** who bangs on, correct peoples posts about Hull City AFC to HCFC. Give it a ****ing rest. We dont have a great heritage or history its ****. Over 100 years of mediocre ****e. We have a great stadium that called the KC Stadium yet all the uber cool Ambernectar lot insist on calling it the Circle. Nothing bad will happen wth this name change, absolutely **** all bad. But, they're trying to see if they can make some money out of it. Let them or **** off.
there isn't much debate in this thread at the minute just people casting assumptions that to have one opinion gets you pidgeon holed My question on the name change is this , why precisely could it be bad for the club ? I dont like Hull Tigers , tho i could accept Hull City Tigers b - or hyphen the Hull-City for me . the reasons im not too bothered are simple i call my Club City to anyone who knows that im taking about Hull Tigers So to me its not a drastic change . As for history , our club , colours , ground name , badge have gone through various changes and all seem either accepted and sometimes applauded This Stripes one season and plain shirts the next - i mean really what is that if not only a half arsed marketing ploy Shouldn't people waving flags at the news that re-branding a club can be fraught with danger - challenge the fact that we swap our Kit design every other season leaving anyone outside the club clueless as to what the team actually looks like !
If it works why haven't we got Manchester United devils?? Man city spent a fortune and didn't crack Asia. Man U cracked it because they win the prem league etc and buy world class players. People want to support the best teams and buy their merchandise because they have the best players not because of their name bollocks. So buy better players finish higher in the league and you'll pick up more interest
Yep. I actually threaten with violence if they say Hull City AFC. Its Association Football Club ****ing plastics.
Nick Thompson just confirmed we are not changing the name of the club. Hull City Tigers is the business-side.
