Kimiya Sato for Sauber? Anyone know much about him? Really wouldn't surprise me if he gets pulled for Sirotkin, in wake of today's news.
According to Carlos Miquel, Ferrari will use Rigon for two days and Massa for one day. He says Ferrari will announce this later today.
Ricciardo to run for Red Bull in YDT, but not JEV http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2013/07/16/red-bull-to-run-ricciardo-at-young-drivers-test/ I don't know why this surprises me so much.
Red Bull have left it late to announce Vettel, Webber and Ricciardo are going to drive. Bit of bluffing with the other teams I think
Force India will give GP2 racer James Calado a test at Silverstone this week, ahead of possible Formula 1 free practice outings later in the season. Kick in the teeth for Vergne, unless he's been told he'll drive another time. Certainly puts DR in a strong position to replace Webber, particularly if he impresses
I don't think it'll be about lap times for him, but more an exercise in technical feedback and working with the engineers. Apparently a lot of people inside RBR rated him very highly after working with him in the '09 and '10 YDTs. As for Vergne, I really do feel for him, as he's a very talented driver (In wet conditions he's superb), and I hope that Dan getting this limelight doesn't affect him too much. But if I were him I'd get out of STR pretty quickly - but where to then?
Caterham have finally announced their line up. Stevens, who is a frontrunner in Formula Renault 3.5, said: "I spent quite a bit of time last week in the simulator so I'm comfortable with most of the systems I'll be working with and, while obviously nothing can really prepare you for the first time you drive an F1 car, I'm as ready as I can be." please log in to view this image Red Bull's line up is by far the most interesting (except Sainz). It rules Vergne out for Webber's seat, they'll look a bit foolish if Vergne beats Ricciardo for the rest of the season now. Worrying seeing Cecotto getting a day for Toro Rosso. Ferrari are putting a lot of faith in Rigon, would've been good if they'd given Bianchi a session.
Most of the drivers won't get a race seat at any point in their careers, so waste of time for them as well. She may never race, but if her test times are reasonable it may raise some eyebrows.
