Looks like Arsenal are back and starting to show a little bite. It's about time we show off our credentials and start chasing some top targets. I would also go for Suarez as he's proven, but can we curb his naughty behaviour? You think Wenger should be able to influence him enough to make a positive change in him.
Smart moves from the club if true. All media speculation though, there's no proof they've made any kind of new bid.
Man United are preparing a £35M bid for Cesc according to Sky Sources. If he joins them I swear I will give up on football. I won't be able to stomach it.
If utd had a bid accepted and arsenal didnt at least match it I'd never forgive the club. If fabregas then said he'd rather go to utd then theres nothing we could do
Can we really see Barcelona sell Fabregas, especially after losing Alcantara? Saying that, should he be available, would he or we want him back? That would be down to Wenger wouldn't it.
I am sure if they receive the right offer they will let him go, regardless of whether Thiago stayed or not. He doesn't fit at Barca and it is only his ego preventing him from leaving now. I just pray to god that United are not the ones that convince him he should leave.
Is this really the case? Unless i've missed some other super midfielder at Barca, but who else can take over from Xavi after he leaves or needs to be subbed? Personally I would want him back, not based on nostalgia, but that he's a bloody good player. On a side note, I know we get a signing on fee should Barca sell him, but if we bought him for say £30m, would it get reduced based on our agreed signing on fee? Will we then buy him for around £20m?
If Utd have bid £25mil that means Barca would only recieve £12.5mil for him due to the 50% sell on clause. So i'm pretty sure stumping up the money to match the bid is not a problem. Fabregas has kept following Arsenal since he left and he andWenger are very close. I have always said i could see a day when he would return to us but i didn't think the possibility would arise so soon. Suarez, Fabregas and Fellaini please!
This all depends on Wenger. Does he see our midfield being good enough with Cazorla and Wilshere? Personally I would get him back in a heartbeat. He would up our level immensely.
Fabregas was Wengers main man, the key to the lock. He built a team around him and i think the whole reason the sell on clause and first refusal where put in was because he always intended to get Fabregas back at some point in the future. IF Fabregas is available to leave Barca then Arsenal will definately make a bid.
I'd like to think that the main reason was for his return, but we know finances play a large part. I don't think Arsenal or any other would have guessed that this would happen so soon. The most likely scenario would have been another club paying mega bucks and us making a tidy profit. But with Manure coming in so soon and Fabs not being a first teamer, it might spark a sooner departure. Now we will have to wait and see what Barca says. If he is available and he wouldn't mind coming back, then we really should be coming in for a bid. Fabregas was indeed a massive player for us.
I may be reading too much into it, but United are not that stupid. I think they realize that the chances of Fabregas/Arsenal/Barcelona all agreeing that United is the best place for Fabregas is very unlikely. I suspect this is a move to force Arsenal to take Fabregas, so they can get a clear (or better) run at Felllaini.
They would have to bid £50m to match our buy back and then it would be down to Fabregas. You think that Fabs joining them is less likely than RVP joining them? I still remember those, "I love Arsenal" comments made by RVP, yet he jumped ship after one and a half seasons of constant football with us. Player loyality means squat nowadays.
Sam Rhodes ‏@SamuelRhodes_ 11m Fabregas' agent has again re-iterated to me that the only club (other than Barcelona), he would even consider joining is Arsenal
Well, I don't know the actual terms of the buyback clause. but the one that is being spread around now is just that Arsenal get first refusal for 25M, and if they turn it down they get half. So United would not have to bid 50M, it would just need Arsenal or Fabregas to say no to him joining Arsenal. I have to think though that for Arsenal to write that buyback clause in, there must have been a fairly good expectation that Fabregas would seriously consider a return. We knew for years that RVP was thinking of leaving when he didn't sign a contract. Fabregas has never waivered in saying that Arsenal and Barcelona are the only two clubs he would play for. He has even repeated that recently. Then there is the thing about him and his lady buying a house in London. I hear what you are saying, but I don't think it is unreasonable of me to think that Fabregas might pick Arsenal over United.
