Papertalk about Harry splashing the cash on Hooper.

If they don't go up then they could find themselves in serious financial trouble. Harry is very good at persuading chairmen to spend beyond the club's means.

I hope QPR finish outside the top 6 just for the comedy value, they might end up playing Pompey in league 1 or 2 in a few seasons time.

You've got to laugh really. Celtic fans telling us Hooper wouldn't leave to play in the Premier League because they get 50,000 plus crowds every week and can offer him Champions League football.

Now it seems he'd rather play in the English 2nd division than stay in the SPL!

Agree TygerTyger - can't wait to see the bitter postings on the QPR board (Southampton fans were told they would be relegated as soon as they signed the midfielder from Celtic). And personally speaking I don't rate Redknapp as a manager and never have done -

What the hell are you basing that frankly stupid statement on?

The manager? The team? The fans? What?

    Don't you remember the Championship?

I just went over to both Celtic and QPR's boards for a quick look:

    Nothing whatsoever. That is annoying.

Oh, and Lewis? They'll piss the most unpredictable league in Europe?

    No.

Just a gut feeling mate. They are trying to get rid of most of the deadwood and i think surely Harry is good enough to get a team promoted. I am not saying they will, because they might not and they could easily do a Wolves, but i just think they will be there or there about at the end.

Tend to agree, and especially in the Championship, surely the most unpredictable league there is, where it is not as simple as just buying a team. Look at the managers who have tried that and failed. And vice versa.

I don't think they need to worry about going skint though, the Mittal's are worth $16.5b.

How long before they get fed up? The money they spent last season to make such a pig's ear of staying up made Bartlett/Duffen/Brown seen positively frugal!

I think personally that QPR will do ok next season.

Based on the fact that they can pay more.
That they need to prove themselves and last but not least because I always get it wrong???:emoticon-0111-blush

The Championship will be as hard as ever with Wigan, QPR, Bolton, Leicester, Reading, Watford, Forest, Blackburn, Leeds. Then there's always the 'Surprise' team that exceeds all expectations, no I think it's going to be really tough for a club that essentially after the fall out from last year has to build a new starting 11 almost. I don't expect QPR to challenge the top 6 in the Championship this season.

I've never seen QPR as a big club, yes it's in London but with crowds of under 20k, a fairly small ground & a lot of competition in the capital. They should make the playoffs but we all thought that of Leicester. New signings will be persuaded they're going straight up by the manager Harry.

If they get him for £5 million then I'd be pissed off if we couldn't match that, yes they could offer more wages, but what sort of ambition form the player is that? I read we offered 4.5 , for an extra half million I'd think we could match it & offer terms that would make him well paid & give him a shot at the PL with the opportunity to impress for the World Cup, also like Benteke he would have other clubs probably better than us, chasing him & they could maybe offer him back to European football.

I agree with all of this, and considering how difficult we are finding it to find a quality striker,i'm hoping we are prepared to go that extra £500k. If Hooper wants the chance of an England call, then he needs to be playing in the Epl. Good post <ok>

News reports today saying that Tony Fernandes booked the squads flight to Austria on EasyJet economy class. Lol.

Harry wants Charlie Austin to link up with wonga driven Gary Hooper. Now that will be an interesting watch IF it happens.

DQPR could very well be this seasons Wolverhampton.

What makes you think that if QPR sign our two main striker targets, they'll fail in a league below?
