The Rangers manager has persuaded his owner Tony Fernandes to splash out on Hooper, 25, who is also coveted by Norwich and Hull City. On his way: Gary Hooper, in pre-season training on Celtic's German tour, looks to be moving to QPR Coup: Rangers boss Harry Redknapp looks to have fought off Premier League competition for Hooper QPR are favourites to bounce back into the Premier League at the first attempt but badly need a new striker after letting Djibril Cisse, Jay Bothroyd and DJ Campbell leave. Fantastic if true, but I'll believe it when I see it! If we got Hooper and managed to keep Remy then we would have the greatest championship front pairing ever!
lol too young to mix with our geriatrics. I read something to say that his fitness is not great at the moment. It might take him a few weeks to get his fitness to where it should be. Could be a good signing.
Why the hell would he sign for us if he has the opportunity to play in the Premier League. We must be offering silly money.
We're offering sillier money than Norwich or Hull which isn't difficult, if he scores the goals that get us up it'll be a shrewd investment...
you're right flyer, Hull is a dump. be interesting to see where hooper ends up. I think despite our growing ambition in the transfer market, we are still being very rigid on the wages we want to pay to keep income to wage bill at a good ratio. I imagine you can offer much bigger wages than we will. In our favour, he's not likely to get a national call up for the world cup playing at championship level, so thats a possible angle to persuade him to adopt the more frugal norfolk life...
Norwich is beautiful and has great roach fishing. I hate football and the V&A ... Bowie expo is dreadful
Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't Remy still on bail for rape charges or similar? I'v been out ofthe loop for a while so I'm probably wrong. I don't think someone would buy him with that hanging over him.
Pot calling kettle black. However anyone from London can call anywhere a dump is beyond me. From what I've seen of hooper at Scunthorpe and Celtic, I think he'd be a very good buy for a championship side, although very expensive. How are QPR planning on dealing with financial fair play?
