Worth pointing out that that Alarte chap of Real Betis B has indeed signed for us, even if we haven't seen anything official. He's playing against Fakenham at the moment. Full side: City: Matthews, Norman, Jimenez, Alarte, Jacobs, Vidal, Young, McGeehan, Alang, King, Wyatt. Subs: McFadden, Morris, Randall and Hodd I'm not entirely sure what kind of order that's in, as I was under the impression Wyatt was a LB. Interesting to see Morris on the bench but the Murphy's nowhere to be seen. Edit: Jacob Murphy has tweeted that he's gone along to watch, but isn't involved. Interesting.
The Murphy's are involved in the senior preseason so arn't playing in these games. They'll be heading off to he states.
Yeah there's a couple. The twitter account said it was a mix of U18 players and trialists. Currently 2-1 City with 10 minutes left. Bertrand Alang has them both
3-1 full time, Alang was another triallist apparently, so 2 goals will have done him some favours, Morris getting the third. Come on then McNally, there's no reason not to announce your news now.
While waiting for other developments, this recent article is worth a read: http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/norwichcity/id/937?&cc=5739#
Norwich City FC ‏@NorwichCityFC 1m TRANSFER NEWS: We will be bringing you news of City's sixth summer signing in the next hour! #ncfc About time !!
Well at least it won't be a kit announcement! Must be Fer, surely? If not, whatever negotiations have been kept very, very quiet!
Could it be Fer and ............................................................. Hooper ? Nah, can't see that
Well, haven't I been saying that since the season ended and we've been discussing what happens next? You can't have comfortable long-term PL security and hope to challenge for Cups, never mind a Europa League spot, unless your squad is strong enough to absorb injuries and rotate players without undermining performance on the pitch. This is why we are picking up quality where we can irrespective of notional existing "cover". As far as the players go, they aren't idiots, they know the score, and as long as we don't sign prima donnas with big egos I don't see the problem. Any player who doesn't like the idea of having real competition for his place needs to find another club.
Excellent news! Well done to all involved! I agree with Robbie about the need for rotation this year and we should have the squad to do it!
