I was quite impressed with the way KP played yesterday. You expect Cook to be able to play long, grinding innings but it's not Pietersen's natural game. Hopefully he can continue this morning.

Hope it's the right Pieterson who turns up today. A great batsman, but can also throw it away. Trott may not be flamboyant, but he is far more likely to build a decent innings and create partnerships. Pieterson...not so reliable.

Pietersen and Trott complement each other and their averages are similar. Trott is more reliable, Pietersen's more likely to play an outrageous match-winning innings.

Pieterson may be more exciting (and don't get me wrong I want him to do well....desperately), but a solid player like Trott can provide the base for an innings. Big miss when given out (wrongly as it seems) yesterday.

Decent first 40 minutes for England. The 100 up and KP's past 50. Cook isn't scoring many but runs aren't too important at the moment.

That was definitely the wicket Australia wanted. Bell in, time for him to improve that poor Ashes record.

Cook goes! That good work of the first hour has been wasted. Bell and Bairstow need to regroup.

I have a bad feeling that the stumping that didnt go our way yesterday is really going to cost us. Take a hundred runs off their total and this match would be done and dusted.

Hopefully Bairstow and Bell can justify their position and a quickfire 50 from Prior gives us a lead of 300 or so. Should b more thqn enough with Swann bowling into Starks footholes to the left handers.
