Just had 2 days at Test match.Absolutely riveting. The place was awash with Aussies, both at ground and in the City bars at night. Good crack with them, they are more surprised than we are about Agar. He may be another one off,we will see. The 2 Third umpiring decisions that went against us were IMO both wrong, but that's what happens, some you win ,some you loose. We should be good enough to beat this lot over 5 tests.
Last year had 2 days at Edgbaston, rained both days.never saw a ball bowled. This year was brilliant.Tickets worked out at £12 per hour, great value
Well worth it just to watch Agar and Hughes bat and Jimmy take five wickets, I'd imagine I'm delighted to see some #AshesLove on this forum!
I am seriously hoping for Cook to spend as long as it takes to grind out a big 100 with the others batting round him to give Broad as much time to heal as possible and the pitch as much time to deteriorate as possible and bring Swann into the game. I think the game is on a knife edge. If the colonials get a couple early on we could conceivably lose today but if cook and KP can keep them out for a bit the pressure will tell and I can see us batting them out of the game. Bear in mind that the freakshow of their last wicket partnership does not hide the vulnerability in the batting and Anderson and Swann should have more help from the pitch on day 4 so in my opinion it is down to the batters to give them something reasonable to defend and we'll be home and hosed. Come on England!!!!!
Agreed, Norfolkbhoy England should be looking to set Ozzy a target of at least 275/300 just to give the bowlers some breathing space. Plus, if the pitch does deteriorate, Root's bowling can be quite effective later on in the game. Bring it on !!
Defo need Cook to grind one out today, He will also reign in KP at times so we have the ideal partnership out there. Ando and Finn were looking knackered yesterday.
