It could be the quality of the camera but does that picture of Fer look a tad photoshopped? Whoever the blonde is sitting in front of him, she is defiantly coming to the party, unless she turns turns around and looks like Vanessa Feltz or something!

Gulp! You have to have VERY good wingers to pull it of and kick ass midfielders than can spray passes out ot each wing at the drop of a hat. Teams who play this formation such as Wigan take a hell of a risk. You have to rely on playing the game in the opponents half. Its very attacking, verging on nuts.

Maybe 5-3-2 is a bit much, but how about a kind of 3-3-3-1? Three CB's, two wingbacks and a DM, a more central attacking midfield three and then a striker?

Again the wingbacks would have to be flexible and put in a lot of work, otherwise we would have no width in attack, they would also have to get back and help out defence.

The DM would have to drop deep and become one of 4 in defence otherwise he would get passed around easily and the middle of the attcking 3 would have to drop into DM role when we do not have the ball.

Like the sound of that bit of potential especially with R Martin and bassong being so good on the ball with Turner in the middle could work. Remember against wolves under lambert when we tried it with Lappin and E Bennett as wing backs it must be a very tempting formation for managers

    Wow, didn't see that coming.

Read earlier he had left the Canadian international camp to attend to affairs in Europe, I assumed that meant here (UK)!

Good luck indeed, a player I have/had a lot of time for.

Interesting choice for Simo! Well out of left field! I imagine it's pretty appetising to move to Germany at the moment with their club football becoming pretty dominant in Europe (even if it is only really Bayern and Dortmund).

Good on him though! Hope he gets a hat full of goals!

Everton have signed Gerard Deulofeu on a season loan. Good move for all parties, he looks like a serious prospect.

Contrary to some reports, # fctwente nothing officially confirmed the outcome of the inspection of Leroy Fer.

Looking on twitter, there's several Everton fans questioning why we're bothering with Fer on account of his knees, and wondering why our medical team haven't noticed the issue. Others say they'll never forgive Kenwright if he turns out to be a massive signing for us. What odds on him scoring the winner on the opening day of the season? Also interesting that a well-followed Twente fan account is saying the outcome of Fer's medical is unknown, but seem confident that one was actually happened.
