Back from shops...not bought him yet, then. Have sympathy with KillerCephalopod....I love words and am used to people looking at me in astonishment when I share a fascinating fact. Did you know that shampoo comes from an Indian word for head massage with oils?

Anyone heard the rumour going round linking us with a move for Wanyama. Seems plausible to me i just hope it doesn't drag on like the Ramirez transfer.

A polar bear can walk 100 metres to the right and then turn right for another 100 metres and then turn again to the right for another 100 metres only to find it is back where it started. Now that is amazing and defies the laws of geometry at first sight.

Not if he started 100 metres down from the north pole and was walking east for the first part of his journey.

Then it would be 200m South of the pole at the end, so St George is correct. If it turned 120 degrees each time it turned right, then it would be in the same place at the end, having walked in a triangle shape.

The conundrum is: If a bear walks south for 1 km, then west for 1 km, then walks north for 1 km and it ends up where it started, what colour is the bear. Answer: white because it's a polar bear.

Stop moaning and learn something. If neither of you know how to correctly pluralise "octopus" after this then you only have yourselves to blame because you've been given a fantastic chance to expand your knowledge. If I see either of you appending Latin pluralisations to words that derive from Greek then I'll be coming down on you like a ton of bricks.

Can be done with 2 90 degree turns, as long as you start at the north pole.

I should of never created this thread! was always going to be painful! (FACT: polar bears cover their nose to hide from hunters in the snow)
