"Octopi" is in the OED too, but I could write an essay on why that's not an acceptable word.
Starting a bit like this?
Octpuses or Octopodes if you must; the word is from greek, not latin thus Octopi is never correct - we are conversing in English where the convention for plurals is to add 's' to the end of words to make them plural or 'es' if they already end in 's'. Thus Octopuses is the most correct form. However, being the english languange, we often adopt words from other languages 'octopus' being a case in point - the greek plural would have been 'octopodes', and is acceptable in english, if a little arcaic (though I'm actually partial to it myself); using a latin plural 'octopi' is never correct.

Please excuse any spelling\grammar mistakes, it was written in rage and hasn't been checked grrr...

Yea, but if the deal was that imminent, Wanyama would surely be in England ready to sign.

Well it's obviously not that imminent if we're still talking to his agent, but it could be a mere few days away. If the agent and Cortese are airing out their terms today, and they come to a satisfactory conclusion, then all that's left is to fly Wanyama over for a medical.

Think we will be able to get a feel for if there is a potential deal on the table if he plays him tomorrow. If Celtic play him and risk an injury they obviously don't feel a deal is near. If they don't play him then they must have a reason for this!

68 pages in and it could be the most significant day in the Saint Victor saga.

Have negotiations with his agent progressed?

Will Wanayama feature in the Celtic friendly tonight or will he be spotted in Sholing signing his new contract at The Spike pub?

What has this got to do with football? What are you some sort of etymologist?

Instead of posting this on a football website why don't you go visit a dictionary website. Who do you think you ****ing are anyway Samuel Johnson?
