I have no idea what that means, but if Vic signs I'll happily sing you a positive rap. Perhaps 'Everyday People' by Arrested Development, or "Summertime" by the Fresh Prince. Will that do?

kinda hope you do get him now, if he's definitely leaving. he's a smashing big player, seriously.

He will be missed by Celtic if he goes. Solid big guy, not feart of a tackle either.

can not believe that a big club like Everton must always offload players before going after new ones, must be so frustrating for the manager and fans.

"Back on" indeed. "Never off" would be more like it.

Wanyama's confused!!? What about us? Good that our interest has been reignited...let's hope that a compromise can be reached with the agents. (Nicola may need to look 'compromise' up in a dictionary<laugh>).

I don't think some people get the idea of leaving your offer on the table and walking off.

It doesn't mean anything has ended or died. It simply becomes about who blinks first.

Exactly, the only source for Lennon's claim that interest has been reignited is Pochettino's comment to the press. As he says "the bid is still there", we haven't come back in for him, we were never not in for him.

If talks have resumed it means he or his agents are willing to compromise after getting nervous about no more bids coming in (or we are, who knows).

Still think they are holding out for a bigger club.

No offence, just my take on it. <ok>

Then we move on...not going to cry over any player. We have a very good side now. No Wanyama, no cry.

I find it very interesting how the perception of the Celtic manager and fans of Southampton has changed so much in just over a year. When we were after Gary Hooper in the January 2012 window we were riding high at the top of the Championship and yet we were seen as a "little" club who Hooper would be mad to join. Now the much more highly-rated Victor Wanyama may be heading our way, and Neil Lennon and, if Tina is representative in any way, the Celtic fans, are happy he is coming to us.

Just shows what a difference a season in the Premier League makes to a club's image.

They may well be, but they will also be making plans in case no more bids materialise.

I think Cortese's transfer philosophy is becoming clear: make a big early bid, probably even more than the asking price, and then wait for the player's demands to drop to a realistic level when they realise they don't have any other options. If we hadn't bid £12m early on, Celtic would probably have accepted Cardiff's offer of £11m. As it is, we have no competition in discussing terms with the player and can probably more than recoup the extra million we spent there. As a club which is perceived to be smallish, albeit growing, the importance of being the only club to have a bid accepted can't be overstated and clearly Cortese appreciates that.
