The Lancashire Telegraph have continuously reported that no fee has been agreed, or even that a second bid has been made.
What the hell is going on? One of these papers is talking ****e and it's getting annoying. Because it means that either our club hasn't made a bid and is just trying to unsettle Austin so they can lower the price (I REALLY hope that isn't the case), or Burnley are covering up our bid/talks in an attempt to lure other clubs into making an offer.
If he's our number 1 target, we should be doing all we can to sign him. Yeah, alright, maybe we don't want to be held to ransom, but having seen Dwight Gayle going to Palace for £4.5m (8.5 with addons) and Cardiff spending £8m on Andreas Cornelius, why shouldn't we go that little bit further to get our top target?
