Sorry, not saying I am agreeing with the original OP.....but I don't see the problem with people discussing big Norwich transfers or news rather than it all being lumped in one big thread. It's interesting to read about people's opinions on one particular thing rather than one big transfer thread. Personally I felt that a bid of 5 mil for one of our star players deserved a thread of its own. Some people just want to read up on a certain subject. What difference does it make anyway?? Let people decide where they want to comment rather than just closing threads so the forum looks tidy!!

I totally agree with this, the Ruddy bid was worth its own thread so much to discuss, so many ramifications if we lose him. As was seen in the second half of last season.
I know the job of moderator must be difficult at times and I appreciate there must be rules but closing down threads in this manner is autocratic and unnecessary. I know i do not post as regularly as many people om here but I also feel what I have to say is just as valid as anyone else.
No need to attack the moderators, just voice your opinion calmly.:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Grow up and stop behaving like a little child who has been denied a lollipop. Dave is under no obligation to mod this board, puts a great deal of his own time and has to put up with a lot of wums and morons like yourself (when 90% of us would press the ban button, he acts diplomatically). If you haven't been on here for a while, then noone will miss you <ok> We are all getting on edge due to a lack of transfer inactivity and the boredom that sets in without a summer of international tourament or Olympics. Deal with it, the window has yet to even open. I suggest you learn to watch another sport to occupy your time...as a nation we are very good at cricket (Ashes), cycling (Froome and Cavendish at the Tour de France), rugby (Lions tour), tennis (murray and robson). Take a look once in while at the brighter and real world, a football forum isn't the be all and end all.

i hope this rant wasn't brought on by my comment.

i was first to comment before it was closed - i posted "see transfer thread'.

that wasn't a shout to get it closed or moved or whatever, it was to say to the OP that the topic had already been discussed and was continuing to be so on the transfer thread.

either way, the rant is utterly ridiculous <ok>

I do agree that having to trawl through the transfer thread alk the time is annoying. There are barely any articles on here during Summer, so why close one that is reporting something that is almost certainly true. As I see it, rumours that have a deal of substance to them deserve a thread that isn't closed.

Just my opinion, you're doing a great job dave and DH. When they were moderators, Maestro and Thai were brilliant too.

Hucks, DH regularly updates the front page of the sticky so you don't have to trawl through the whole thread! <ok>

Just to put you straight Cromer, Redruth banned himself!

As for Beefy He regularly slags us off so I guess that's perfectly alright with you!

Munky fell out big time wiith one of your own posters!

On all counts this has nothing to do with us Ipswich posters who visit this board! <ok>

JWM, your selective memory is misbehaving again, all those different fall-outs wete brought up time and again by Guru, refusing to let things die down, he just kept stirring and stirring until it had his desired effect of causing Norwich posters to fall out with each other!

Dave on the three points that Cromer raised not one of those can be blamed on any Ipswich Poster. I am not going to start the whole Guru debate again as we have had more than enough discussion on that particular subject.

Munky disappeared from your board because of canaryrob...ILD and Redruth because of your own posters, not us few binners who dare to post on the Darkside occasionally...<ok>

Watch my lips welly, on each occasion, the matter was not allowed to die because Guru kept digging up the subject and stoking the flames! Read Rob's own account of it on your own board!

Yeah I saw all that, but in each case the matter was done and dusted before Guru 'kept digging up the subject', the flames were no longer there for Guru to stoke, and Rob carefully sidestepped his involvement in Munky's departure, didn't he?

To be perfectly honest, Dave, as a football fan, I miss the input of Beefy, Redruth, ILD, and Munky on your board, good Budgies and good football fans one and all...but neither Guru nor any of us had anything to do with their leaving, that was down to your posters, and any 'after the event' comment about it by any of us binners doesn't change that. <ok>

Guru tried having me banned on the old 606 site and the not606 site so I am afraid what comes around goes around.

To be fair, Guru isn't a bad person but he was consumed by jealousy and spitefulness caused by our remarkable success over the last few seasons.

It is a path that many a good man has gone down to his peril

Fair enough Dave, but I'd like to comment on some transfer news if I come to it a little late!

Dave, I think you should make a request to the site owner to make the IGNORE button fluorescent yellow. ;) Honestly, if people used it correctly, this forum would be a lot more pleasurable forum to post on.

Although Guru was on the wind up at times, he often had some valid points. It's a shame to see him go, as the thing I like about this board is interacting with fans from different clubs as well. I don't really think his ban was warranted but I understand the moderators work within a fine line and will never get everything right.

This is one of the very problems we face as moderator! Here we have YellowLittle's very valid viewpoint that the ban is harsh, I have also received several pm's saying about bloody time, one even said it should have happened two years ago, so you can see, whichever way it went, I was going to be criticised!
