Really? Why would we need him? We already have enough strike force, we were scoring plenty even without playing well last season. If we were going for a striker, I'd like it to be someone like Chicharito, a relatively unknown.
I don't watch Italian football so know very little about Cavani. I did google him though and noted that his international goal scoring record was compared with Jermain Defoe's. 50 million seems a lot on that basis. That said, he looks like the big striker Mourinho likes to use as the focus of his attritional, grinding style of football that is so attractive to watch.
Well you can't compare Cavani with Defoe, Defoe is an out and out poacher, Cavani gives a lot more and has a physical presence too, Having said that, he isn't the best striker in the world, so no way 50 million, maybe 35 million is about right, as he's been superb for a few years.
