A lot of Doubting Thomas' on here. Is there a lack of faith in Malky's judgement and who's to say Velikonja won't come good given the right system for his style and the right service?

With the forwards we have at our disposal I see us having not only Plan A & B but C & D also.

I would love to be proved wrong but ive written Velikonja off.

The coaching staff and Malky have had him for the best part of a year.

Everyone makes mistakes and this looks like one for Malky.

Time to be made available for a free transfer?

Or Mason or Rudy plus Bellamy can play as a striker.

I know he didnt have much service v Hull. But to me he didnt look capable of making the run Campbell did for our 1st.

As I say love to be proved wrong but I think hes very much surplus to requirements and needs to find another club.

I do not think Velonijka can step up and should be off-loaded, we won't get our money back either. A shame but you can't win them all. Rudy may get his chance in the premier league but he will also be a bit part player (IMO).

Fair comments guys about Velikonja, I was trying to take away some of the doubts people seem to have in Malky's judgement. We all make mistakes and if Velikonja is one of Malky's then I am sure he will have learned from it and Cornelius will be a success.

My main query about him which the video clips don't cover (as they naturally focus on his goal scoring ability) is what is his link up play like? A guy his size will be the focal point up front and needs to be able to play with his back to goal, hold the ball up, win air ball and feed in others. If he has those skills allied with his ability to stick the ball in the net then he could be our Andy Carroll without the pony tail and attitude - and a darn sight cheaper.
