Some people are so desperate for transfer news... A few on twitter trying to say we're linked to Eduardo Salvio, and buying him and Gaitan for £27 million for the pair.

Another Equadorian? Don't we learn by our past mistakes?
Noooooooooooo!
Brits preferred, Europeans are fine and others fron RoW who have played successfully in Europe are worth a punt but anyone else.....no!

Not sure we are looking for any more CBs. When asked about Astori, Mauricio confirmed we had looked in the past, but we had now signed Lovren. Sounded like he thought we had completed signings for that position. Have to admit he was talking to a foreign newspaper, so may have been lost in translation...those tenses can be little buggers.

Allotted - Neymar (a world class talent) straight into theremin still would be a massive gamble for that sort of money but this guy certainly isn't a Neymar that's for certain!
Can you imagine Neymars first game as he runs out at the Brittannia Stadium, all eight stone of him against the Clay Head Giants! Be like sending children out to face apack of dogs.

I think you're generalising a bit. I say a bit, I mean massively. Completely depends on the mentality, physicality, ability of the player as to whether they adapt to the relatively unique demands of the premier league, not their nationality. You question Neymar's ability to cope with Stoke - but then being 8/9 stone never did Juninho any harm at Middlesbrough, when teams that play with the physicality of Stoke were more common.

Likewise, I suspect the likes of Hulk and Fred would do just fine over in the EPL for different reasons. Granted, we've not had a lot of luck with players from Ecuador previously, but that's everything to do with the fact they were the wrong players (for various reasons from ability through to mentality and fragility), and nothing to do with the fact they were Ecuadorian.....
