Erazo.....never heard of him.....anyone got any info? I.E left sided right sided...and you are right of course our record with that part of the world is pretty horrendous however as someone has said it is rare for lightening to strike twice isn't it? It is isn't it...........?????

There is some info in the article, other than that not sure we have much else! Ecudorian international, has had 6 full seasons at the highest level there and at the age of 25 has experience but also fits into our style of player. Of course his nationality isn't relevant to whether he will flop or not! But South American players coming over to England haven't always had a great time of it, but this guy appears to be ready for a step up.

Other clubs interested but at the rumoured £2.5M price tag I think he is worth a gamble and the money rumoured for Astori can be used elsewhere!

Few quotes from MP here.

Monday will start the new season of coach Mauricio Pochettino to Southampton. Tuttomercatoweb.com interviewed him exclusively to make a point on the market.

News of recent days is the offering of the Saints at Rome for Osvaldo. There is talk of € 20 million.

"Oswald is a great player. I've trained at Espanyol, so I know its features. At the time we got information about his situation at Rome, but we made no offer."

It 'clear that looking for a striker, though ...

"We have a clear idea of what may be our goals, but the market at the moment is going very slowly. We are working with a lot of discretion to bring on reinforcements in pink."

Looking also to the Italian market, see the names of Astori and Nainggolan ...

"Of Southampton names juxtaposed to have come out many, perhaps too many. Some of them were invented, others do not. Astori, for example, has been tried, but in the end we opted for Lovren, a great player."

Ramirez will remain?

"He 's happy with us, we are counting on him for next season. It' s normal that many clubs like to see its value, but we do not do case to market rumors. We are planning the next season with him."

Goals for the next season?

"The president is an ambitious person, and so do we. We are going to improve, but we do not set points.'ll Watch game after game, from first to last."

Left sided centre back, watched him against Germany where Ecaudor were 4-0 down at half time. That said I thought he looked a good player didn't have much help from other defenders and the goalkeeper had a mare. He is big, strong but has excellent touch and distribution. The only real fault I could see is he has a tendency to try to rush in front of the attacking player to intercept the ball, which is great when you get there but on more than one occasion he didn't which looked bad. If he could improve his decision making in these situations then he could turn out to be a bargain. Obviously can't read to much in to this as it was only one game.

where do you get that?

Astori deal is dead then, thought as much when we signed Lovern, didn't think we were going to spend nearly £20M on CBs may give weight to the rumours about Erazo as well.

With Osvaldo, looks like we enquired about his availability and then decided against bidding/were told to jog on. Now he is being liked with At.Madrid it sounds more likely we didn't want to match the asking price rather than he wasn't for sale.

Good we are still looking for a striker!

Best part of the translation - 'reinforcements in pink'... erm? Sounds dodgy to me! ;)

"We are working with a lot of discretion to bring on reinforcements in pink."

Could be the leaked kit design is way off the mark
Pochettino's Pink Army!!
