I think he'd slot right in nicely as an inside left with the 451/433 formation played correctly. ..........................Westwood.......................... .....................O'Shea..........??????................. ?????.....................................................Rose ........................Alfy........Cabrel..................... ............................Zarate............................. ......Johnson....................................Sess....... .............................fletch............................. It makes me want to Jizz. They'd be hard to pick up too as they can all inter change.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...land-transfer-news-stephan-sessengnon-1988725 Paolo Di Canio has put the âFor Saleâ sign up at Sunderland as he looks to off-load star striker Stephane Sessegnon. The Italian's ruthless shake up at the Stadium of Light will see Benin trickster Sessegnon shipped out if a £8million offer is received. With Simon Mignolet completing an £11m switch to Liverpool , and £4m rated skipper Lee Cattermole interesting Hull and Stoke , Di Canio is pruning deep into his talent to fund his own spending spree. Owner Ellis Short has put his total trust in Di Canioâs dealings and getting rid of Sessegnon, who scored 17 goals in 83 starts, and Mignolet, the clubâs top performer last season, is a big risk. He is a favourite of the Stadium of Light crowd, but Di Canio has concluded he would be better off with the cash, after the playerâs long- stated desire to head back to France for family reasons. Marseille are eyeing Sessegnon as a fall-back option, while Chinese clubs Tianjin Teda and Shanghai Shenhua have made inquiries, with Teda the more interested. Fringe players like David Vaughan, who is interesting Crystal Palace, are also being marketed and Di Canioâs starting XI will be unrecognisable from last seasonâs relegation *strugglers. Ahmed Elmohamady is likely to make last seasonâs loan spell at Hull permanent, while striker Ji Dong Won is for sale with German side *Augsburg negotiating over a £1m deal. The futures of Connor Wickham and Danny Graham are uncertain, and after all the departures Di Canio will have a thin squad for pre-season. However the clear-out has been deemed essential to help Short start to stem £27m-a-season losses, including a wage bill that topped £63m last season. Jozy Altidore, the USA *international, is one of Di Canioâs top targets, after he grabbed 31 goals for AZ Alkmaar last season. Di Canio could land 10 new players by August and Inter Milan midfielder Alfred Duncan is on the radar although a £5m bid for the Ghanaian was turned down. Lazio right back Luis Pedro Cavanda and St Etienne midfielder Joshua Guilavogui are potential youthful recruits whom Sunderland will move for in the next month. Sunderland have landed Modibo Diakite, Cabral and Valentin Roberge on free transfers. Swedish winger David Moberg Karlsson joined last week. The Under-21 ranks have been bolstered by the arrivals of Duncan Watmore from Altrincham and Le Havreâs France Under-20 player El-Hadji Ba. Di Canio says: âThere is a lot of hard work to do between now and the first game against Fulham but we are ready for it. There are many steps to take. âWe have to integrate the new players into the team, continue to build and develop our squad and complete our pre-season training.â
Never seen such an overhaul of players in my 50 years watching SAFC. Huge risk. I think I would prefer to see some kind of premier league experience come in as opposed to untried and untested players. But we will see...it just might work.
McCarthy signed an awful lot of players in a short space of time in the premier league as well - so obviously it works as Mackemenemy and McCarthy had great top division records! I still haven't heard anything from the club around this - Not sure if that's good or bad!
It is a risk but how many 5 year plans have we had? We just have to hope they know what thier doing. I would keep sess and catts and like to see some quality added not sell our best players
This is my issue with Di Canio and the current management structure, if you say everyone has a price your touting your team for sale. Now I can understand Mig going at the right price, but selling the likes of Sess and Catts I just don't understand! If you cut to far and to deep there is the very real risk of killing the whole.
Mate, why don't you wait and see what's happens before cementing issues with manager and club. These papers have nothing! Who have they linked cats with? Stoke and Hull. The most physical side in the league and the team where his old manager is. come on mate, it's all to predictable, besides, Catts is still injured. Now for Sess, The chinese clubs probably do have interest. The papers, however, will know full well this is never going to happen as Sess would never accept terms, so the papers then linked him with a french club, suprise suprise. Vaughan to Place? Link him with his old manager 1 million Ji to Augsburg? Augsburg can't even afford 1million. They're on the verge of administration and have already ruled themselves out, but the Dortmund link has gone cold so they go back to the easy option. As for Connor Wickham and Danny Graham? they couldn't even be bothered to link a club. only two with legs are Mig and Elmo. All our links for incomings that have come from the continent and proved a much more trustable source, where the british press have linked us with Grant Pissing Holt! Being worried is fine but taking issue with club and manager over early transfer window speculation is just insane fella. come on, get a grip mate. Players are still on holiday for a week. The British press, season upon season print the first bit of thread spun from any agent regardless of substance. Not saying they're untrue, I'm saying they're 100% unfounded.
My concern is that these stories are coming out of the club they could be ****e but saying everyone has a price makes me nervous I also have issues about how the club business is conducted so publicly makes us nearly as bad as that shower up the road IMO
1000 times this. People saying they are becoming concerned still haven't presented any satisfactory reasons to be concerned. People who go on about how we are bringing is unknowns who are risky are being concerned because they are unknown to them. Diakite, Roberge and Cabral arent unknown quantities. They have played European football last season and now they will be playing for us. Last season, people were moaning about how MoN always bought british. Now we are buying from abroad and people complain because they haven't heard of the players. Outside your Real Madrids Barcelonas and other Champions league teams who actually knows a lot about foreign football. We are not operating at a champions league level. We probably never will. We need to realise that selling players and replacing them for better value is the road we have to take now. If Sess goes, Sess goes. We will replace him with hopefully someone a bit more consistent. For me, every player has a price. If a team makes an offer in and around that price we have to seriously consider it.
How do you know anything is coming from the club? You only have the papers say so on that. They twist everything they're told anyway.
If worst comes to worst, I'll dust off my Adi Dassler Predators. I'm in the Messi mould, but much more handsome.
Never worn a pair do they work? Never been able to curl a ball on the outside of my left foot, wondering if they could have helped.
