    It's a real toss up between Wanyama and Banega. Banega's value for money might tip it...

    Wanyama is a very good player but central midfield is arguably our strongest position. I think we really need a forward or wide man, maybe like a consistent Dos Santos.

    I personally feel that's a slightly antiquated thinking.

    I appreciate the validity in arguing that a multi-lingual team may struggle to communicate but I don't believe that simply signing a 'foreigner' is a cause for concern. We top most tables when comparing the English contingents of Premier League squads so I don't think we are at risk of losing our British core; Shaw, Clyne, Rodriguez, Lallana and Cork provide a brilliant spine of English talent that are likely to feature in our starting XIs frequently next season and we have Lambert, Davis and Puncheon to add to that.
